This is how decent Americans petition their government. Without threats, or harassment of legislator's families.

Agree or disagree with this action but this is how progressive citizens treat their members of Congress.

1. Sirota is acting as though he doesn't understand
that any attempt to add the PO at this particular point in the process could end up scuttling the healthcare bill. But Sirota has been anything but in favor of the bill AND he is actively supporting Bennet's primary opponent, so his motivations are anyone's guess.

2. It's the difference between principles and political expediency.
You want to question his motives but that's just a cheap shot. He has been more than fair with Senator Bennett and in my mind has shown no favoritism to either candidate. Neither of us are in David's head so we don't *really* know his motivation but I can tell you that my respect for both Romanoff and Bennett hasn't been offended at all by David. The message I get from him is we want politicians who will stand up on principle and do what they say they are going to do. Our whole political process is corrupted by the compromises these politicians make for the sake of special interests. It won't stop until we hold our elected official's feet to the fire.

3. Bullshit
David Sirota is one of the most principled progressives out there. You can disagree with him, but to question his motives? I mean seriosly, WTF?

4. Sirota Has Been Trashing HCB
for a couple weeks now - his rhetoric has been as vile as those on the right lately.

It's not just right-wing radio types fueling the fire.

6. Sirota was doing what Obama asked us to do. He was

pointing out that this bill is a corporate friendly bill, entrenching the idea that a for-profit health care system is acceptable in a Democracy when Democrats ran on 'change' we could believe in. This is the status quo which has further empowered these corrupt corporations when they were losing customers already. They have now been bailed out and are entrusted once again with the health care of the American people, only now with access to public funds. Sirota was 'holding their feet to the fire' as Obama requested. But Obama never included progressives in this process so I guess his request for us to let him know what we think about his decisions, was just rhetoric after all.

If you call speaking the truth 'rhetoric' what do you call 'lies'? We were lied to, whether you want to remain in denial of that or not. Liberals were told to take their ideas and 'shove them' while Republicans had their ideas incorporated into this bill. I call what we were told in the campaign, 'rhetoric' I only wish I hadn't believed it.

Did you really think that people are so shallow that a 'win' would erase all the reasons why this bill was opposed? That if the team won, which there was never any doubt they would, they DO have a majority which we helped them get after all, we would all get out the pom poms and jump on board? Sorry, but principles don't change because of the glory of winning.

Bush had many victories also, like his Wars eg. And how we slammed his supporters for cheering for those policies instead of doing what Sirota and others are doing now.

I will ask this question again of someone who supports this bill, but don't expect an answer as I never get one.

'Do you support a for-profit privately run health care system which places public funds under the management of Private Insurance?'

7. yada yada yada
I don't care anymore - it passed with or without Sirota's snarky remarks and trashing the dems.

It's over and the only thing he did was piss off listeners and pointed out the obvious disappointments and corporate crap concerns we all shared to the point of overkill.

Shut up already - we get it David, YOU hate it!

8. Another pro-corporate health care system, refused to answer
the question. I am not surprised, but I keep asking. So far, I have never received an answer. And yet, what you fail to realize is that 'silence is consent'. I take it you DO support a for-profit health care system with public funds now being privatized.

Just FYI, the guys you just helped bail out, are now taking YOU for a ride, just as predicted:

5. Bennet proved himself to be nothing more than a paper tiger
The reconciliation bill had to go back to the House anyway. The House leadership said they had the votes for a public option. We got bupkus regarding this issue.

Bennet is worthless. I'll be happy to vote for Romanoff. At least he has a record of leadership in the state house that can be examined and stand up to the light. Bennet is witheringly useless, imo.
