Views on DU: 2549 | Rachel plays some of the disturbing phone calls Stupak has received and recounts other recent incidents of violent intimidation of Democratic politicians by the Republican party's maniacal base. She also interviews Rep. Steve Driehuas (D-Ohio) who has had intimidation directed at himself by minority leader Boehner. 1. Good thing we have her |
|
I mean you really don't get the impact of all the stuff that goes on until someone like this goes out and gets it and puts it all together. I saw her whole show, and I have to hope that she doesn't have to lead with this again. Where are we going when this kind of violence becomes less and less isolated?

3. Who's responsible for this? |
|
Under George W. Bush, Democrats criticized his policies as being bad for the country; after Obama was elected, mainstream Republican leaders and conservative media hosts portrayed him as an existential threat to the country. What did they THINK was going to happen? They've created a mob armed with assault weapons instead of pitchforks and torches--and in this case, the mob is the monster (and those who created it can't control it).
I don't know what's happened to America, but I want my country back . . . .

appearance is just fine...
Don't ANYBODY dare tell us that there's no double standard here!!!
And NONE of those T-Shirts threatened any sort of violence...

10. Anybody want to bet that flaming A-hole talk show host Bill Cunningham had a hand |
|
Edited on Thu Mar-25-10 06:17 AM by bulloney
in the threats against Driehaus?
WLW-radio in Cincinnati has a slew of RW a-holes who keep pounding the message that Democrats and their policies are inherently bad and Republicans and their policies are always right. Cunningham's the worst of them. It's enough to push some of those rednecks in the Cincinnati area over the edge and take violent action.
As for the threats against Stupak, I guess we can take comfort in knowing the threats have mainly come from PRO-LIFERS. :sarcasm:
Just when I think Americans can't look any more ignorant, I'm proven wrong every day. The real sad part is, it's being encouraged by the Republican leadership and the RW talk show stooges.

11. I think when Bonehead said "daed," he meant "dead." |
|
Once a few Democrats have been murdered, then they will all throw up their hands in horror saying, "oh, but I never meant THAT!"

12. I just don't understand this at all. |
|
Death threats because someone voted for HEALTH REFORM?? I just don't understand the thought process behind that. And Boeher's statement should be the lead on every news show. If that isn't below the belt behavior (especially for a House Leader), I don't know what is.

13. Those people making death threats to Stupak sound a bit too southern to be from Michigan. |

14. Any chance this might cause Stupak to question the kind of people he's hanging out with? |
|

Right wing fanatics?
Religious fanatics?
Evidently Stupak supported NRA and anti-gun control stuff
UNTIL HIS TEENAGED SON KILLED HIMSELF WITH A GUN!!
