Sarah Palin recently unveiled her "Target Map" for vulnerable Democrats in this year's midterm elections. The only problem is that she told her followers to "reload" and "take aim" at these folks. With public anger reaching all-time highs, and violence against members of Congress being threatened on a daily basis, her language could be taken literally by her less-than-bright followers. Mike Papantonio appears on Fox News' O'Reilly Factor (with guest host Laura Ingraham) to talk about how Sarah Palin is throwing fuel on the flames of hate in America today.

1. Oh good lord....
Laura Ingraham's voice is just as bad as Palin's, Bachmann's, Orly Taitz's, and Coulter's.
Why is it that the republican females have such irritating voices while the female democrats don't?

5. You left out Hasselbeck.
Less annoying than Bachmann or Orly, more annoying than Sarah Palin or Anne Coulter (not taking into account what kinds of things they say- just how annoying their voices are)

Her interviewing style reminds me of when Megyn Kelly interviewed the guy from ACORN- always interrupting, always talking over him, and ALWAYS with the accusatory tone in her voice. There must be a school where they send all these Fox "News" Barbies- Like a bitch finishing school or something.

3. Ingraham refuses to go back a few days with "incidents"...
then brings up stuff that happened with Bush and DICK from over a year ago.

And she has GOT to have one of THE most grating talk through the nose voices EVER. Ever.

Sure, for most people with true intelligence, they know that certain words have always been used for political battle and they have enough brains to overlook most of it, even when they find it classless and distasteful.

However, we aren't talking about any substantial intelligence in regard to these *followers*.
They are as dumb as the rocks they hurl. And mean as rabid bats.

4. Why is it so hard for them to understand?
Lots of people are pissed off right now to the point of irrationality and many of the GOP constituents are not the sharpest tools in the shed, so when you put pictures of Democratic districts with sniper scope sights on them (Districts located within driving distance of and inside Republican strongholds, I will point out), you might get some nutcases who aren't going to see that as a metaphor for something else and then act accordingly.

6. They understand
Edited on Sat Mar-27-10 01:27 AM by WhoIsNumberNone
and they know what they are doing. Even if they are too dense to get it (which the people who come up with these things are not) it's been explained to them way too many times for it not to have sunk in.

It's like asking if the Nazis understood what they were doing when they incited violence. And they do it in exactly the same way- they lead the horse to the water, but if he drinks it they can still deny that they made him.

7. Arrrgh, the will of the people was not denied the GE decided the will of the people ..

Folks disagreed on the details of the bill not the direction. Mickey mouse does not heave ID righties, the election was fair and decisvie. Folks decided on health care reform after a generation of the GOP going nowhere close. That is all.

8. What a horrific voice!
I had to bail early, I just can't listen to that awful sound this early in the morning. How can the wingnuts listen to this screechy woman?

I too have noticed the general tendency of republican wingnut women to sound annoying in the process of being annoying. I don't know why they have no females with pleasant, mellifluous voices on their side, but they sure don't.

10. She's so shallow
First she says "let's not go back to Sunday" then she brings up suspect issues from forty years ago. Don't they have anybody up to standard to argue their barbaric views? I guess it really doesn't matter though, because regardless of what is said on fox, their goons will follow and believe it.

11. I've always resisted the calls for dems/liberals/progressives to boycott Fux News . . .
Edited on Sat Mar-27-10 06:59 AM by MrModerate
On the premise that if left unopposed, they'll just amp up their lies until you can hear nothing else. However, when I see an "interview" like this I begin to change my mind and I'd now suggest a modified boycott:

If the dem/lib/progressive can overshout like, say, Anthony Wiener -- keeping the fuxbot on his/her back foot -- then go on Fux whenever invited. However, don't let the interviewer get away with the shoutdown technique at all. Whenever the resident gasbag tries to yell over an answer, immediately pivot to the "Please Laura, you have to let me anwer the question," -- and push through to ensure getting the last word. Hammer 'em every time until the story becomes exclusively about Fux interrupting guests.

And if the interviewee doesn't have enough of the playground scapper in them to do it that way, decline the Fux invitation with some variation on the "this is a serious topic which Fux News historically declines to discuss seriously, so I'll seek other channels to communicate my point of view."

It shouldn't take more than a few weeks of discipline to turn Fux into "the network of no" and seriously (and permanently, one hopes) damage their credibility -- not with the no opposable thumb set, for whom there's no hope (on so many levels) -- but with the squishy middle, which dems need to be able to draw on for timely support.

12. Hypothetical
Let's imagine that a Democratic Congressman gets their head blown off, and it's found that the person that did it had a Palin scope target map in their pocket at the time of the shooting.

The entire right will respond: "Well, gee, you can't make little old us responsible for the behavior of one solitary wacko!"

How do I know this? That was indeed the exact type of response that was offered up by them after Dr. George Tiller, the abortion Doctor, was assassinated in a Church last year!

If you can't beat them with ballots, beat them with bullets, I guess?

And please, if there was any rightie in MSM that took at least some responsibility for the Tiller assassination, please share that information here. I'm into facts more than doctrine. And I don't knowingly make arguments with bogus facts.

14. shut her up
Why doesn't he tell her to shut the fuck up so he can answer the question. That is what I hate about faux, the talking shitbrains just yap, yap, yap, and the guest never answers the questions.

They were extremely friendly and civil when they interviewed James O'Keefe.
