Honest question to you out there. I've done several political videos, but this was one I made 2 years ago but took down within hours for fear it would be misunderstood. I've posted it again because quite honestly? I'm scared again. Would love your feedback.

It is not up to "us" to protect the President. The Secret Service is diligent and tireless. They are professionals, and it is their job.

Us focusing on these types of images stoke fear and anger, unnecessarily.

It's not "playing the fear card" when you admit you're scared about something. As an artist, I simply communicate my feelings. This is what I feel. I'm not threatening, I'm not imposing, I'm sharing. The recent uproar over health care (seriously folks, we're talkin' 'bout HEALTH CARE - not killing people, but helping people) - anyway THAT uproar just has me sick to my stomach. That's why I'm sharing the video.

two very contradictive feelings with this video.

on the one hand, watching, and the music, song, was excellent and heartfelt. felt good to hear those words and remember those men. the making of the video was excellent, imo.

but, calling it to attention in the manner it is called to attention (in a karma, action/reaction kinda way) with the dead and the live obama just felt like it was putting obama in that place of death.

Your video and song are good and a call to be vigilant. The right erupts into occasional outbursts: Red Scare here, McCarthyism there, and Dixie Chick the dissenters, ready your teabags “real ‘mericans”.
In my opinion the right is defiantly fomenting intense hatred and hoping to awaken a “lone wolf” to do what they would never openly call for, for fear of arrest. This has been in the back of my mind since Senator Obama began his campaign. This country is NOT above killing our own, for corporatist or Zionist purposes. We have been suspected of doing it in the past, and we sure as hell are capable of doing again. Been watching the crazies at the teabagger reunions? We are a nation of nutballs.

I'm sure President Obama and his family are acutely aware of the threat against him. He is ruffling some feathers out there, and changing this country is NOT an easy task, or one that will change without some resistance.

i hear my uber republican family, all the time, wonder outloud why he hasn't been killed yet (and pelosi, they add). seriously. the last occasion was the day after HCR was passed. it's a shitty reality, but there are people ignorant enough and angry enough out there. just to add, no one in my family would ever ever do such a thing. they don't even own guns, wouldn't even know how to use one, and don't have the mindset of murderers. i just don't think that they would be upset at all if something like that were to happen. and it scares me, that these average, middle class, church going people that are my blood and that i love, if they feel that way, then there have to be people out there that are way more violent in their hate. sad but true.

Years ago I was indecisive about Clinton. Bill. When he won the California primary there was this moment when I heard myself say "Oh God please don't anyone kill him."

I knew then he was to be "my" President. I got to shake his hand once. Wow. I still have the 1992 Demo convention on tape and the 1993 MTV party to remind me of the potential of that time.

When Barack Obama gave the speech in Denver and HuffPost comedy team's headline of the photo was "HE DIDN'T GET SHOT" I laughed because I had the same idea. Our President is in danger from many sources and if I could I would "watch the sky" for him. It is my duty.... it just is.
