Alan explains how his 5 year old child heard one of the death threats aimed at him and goes on to discuss how the Republicans and Faux "have consciously tried to induce a national nervous breakdown". They also discuss theories on how the Public Option was killed and how he's trying to revive it.

I really appreciate his telling the truth and putting the blame squarely where it lies. Other politicians are trying to be more polite and not calling out the Republicans who started stirring this hysteria during their losing campaign. Accusing Obama of being a Muslim with a dangerous Christian reverend. Of palling around with a terrorist who received lots of funding for his work from prominent Republican donors, the Annenbergs. Etcetera.

Republican Dick Armey and his astroturfing were given a big bipartisanship window to crawl through with their incitement of citizens devastated by the Bush Crash and Bush Bailout to get them to channel their fears against the Democrats who were given a mandate to govern by the majority of their fellow citizens. And it was very sad that with our right wing dominated mass media, those astroturfing efforts were only exposed on a few liberal TV shows, whereas a lot of broadcast news talked about the rallies as though they were just spontaneous phenomena. That citizens on Medicare were just genuinely upset about government interference in healthcare. That those instruction sheets on how to disrupt town hall meetings were not really important news items.

Republicans continued on from the disgusting fear mongering campaigning (because they couldn't run on Bush's miserable record)to more fear mongering in defense of the status quo of 47 million uninsured, with 44,000 dieing early every year, while premiums and insurance company profits continued to soar.

I've heard so much pretense from the Republicans about the dangerous incitement they've been doing since 2008 through their proxy "genuine grass roots" groups so Grayson's description was very refreshing.

Grayson and Malloy go on to talk about other things, including buying into Medicare and financial reform.
