3. Letterman is right on the money
Why isn't there some kind of safeguards against foreigners owning too much of our media? If Murdoch was Iranian or Mexican, there would be so many laws introduced to keep him from owning a freakin' dog in this country.

5. I'm ashamed to say....
“Clinton’s Telecommunications Act of 1996....The Act was claimed to foster competition, but instead it led to historic industry consolidation, reducing the number of major media companies from around 80 in 1986, to 6 in 2005.”

...No more Clintons, no more Bushes!!

Having brought us Nafta and more things like the communications act with that very argument...I'm guessing Hillerity will give us more of the same...BC belongs to the Tri-l@tteral com. with fellow members * senior and the present vp Darth Vader and most of the neocons that brought us to where we are today. So it is no wonder the corporate media and their string pullers are trying to shove her down our throats. They know a pug can't win. Why is it always a win win situation for the corporate msm and their string pullers....a kind of heads I win tails you lose.

7. Anybody know which candidates are getting Rupert's money?
I'm sure that he donates to both parties, just to cover himself. MicroSux does the same. Which of the Democratic hopefuls has Rupert's money? I think I know, but I'd like to be sure.

9. Just what I suspected . . .
but I wanted to be sure before I pointed the finger. I really have wanted a female president, but I can't back Hilary when I learn where her money comes from. It is business as usual. The rich getting richer and more power while the middle class grows smaller and the poor simply get shit on. The person who has the most experience is my governor Billy Richardson. I've always wanted to see a Hispanic in the White House too, but there is no way that can happen. People in this country are just too afraid of brown faces. All the anti-Mexican immigrant BS that goes on in this country always means all Hispanics get the residual prejudice. In our version of primaries last pres. election I voted for Kucinich. but I have to admit my own prejudice when it comes to old men who marry young women. Edwards has been touching closely the issues I really care about, so I've been leaning his way. I just haven't warmed up to Obama. When I hear him speak, he just hasn't said anything that really grabs me. I always have dreamt of someone besides a white man in the white house, but Edward's passion speaks to my passion. Well, at least I've written Hilary off my list.

10. Well, I wrote her off a long time
Edited on Thu Aug-02-07 03:01 PM by zidzi
ago for my own reasons but investigate more ..maybe, I don't know. Anyway I don't care what color or gender as long as they speak my language..i.e. The language of "no wars for oil and political gain".
"Power to The People"..they work for us..not the corporatewhores.

I was for Gore and then Dean..haven't totally committed myself to any candidate yet. But, some of the things I've heard Obama say lately are perking up my ears. :)

13. oh no
you'll be yelled at for being happy he's no longer around to terrorize us, and that you should respect his family's loss of someone they loved (that part always cracked me up, how do we know families of people like him aren't HAPPY they're gone, too?)

I don't wish true ill on anyone, but to know they're not around to hurt civility anymore, and especially since I pray for my enemies, if they don't change before they're gone - you can bet I'll be glad they're no longer hurting me and those I love...
