1. I'm thinking one (or more) of her handlers think she's a *itch and
maybe noticed the wording and decided to ignore it. Remember when she was dressed with a Dem donkey scarf when she was campaigning?

2. Boy, it's hard to listen to her voice.
It's also very distracting for her to keep putting her head down as she reads her speech. She needs a teleprompter!

3. Her fans don't care if she contradicts herself.
They'd cheer if she said "keep your government hands off my medicare". When you're surrounded by people who applaud anything you say, what difference does it make what that is?

4. Lock, Load and Take Her Out
Lock, load, and take Sarah Palin out. Naturally, I am speaking figuratively in the lexicon of polities (i.e. see recent John McCain comments), so crazy snipers should not interpret this as instructions to necessarily leave her as dead meat in a pool of blood.

6. Did I hear her say that "we need to feel safe in our homeland"? Personally...
... I don't feel safe as long as she's in it.

If you feel like a Sarah Palin satire break, here's a short video that suggests that we should exile Palin, so that the rest of us don't have to move to Canada:

7. I suspect it was deliberate.
It was too obvious to be a mistake.

Perhaps the logic is something like "Who needs a scholar to chew up the Constitution and spit it out for us? We'll venerate it as long as we can interpret it our way, without discussion."

12. I don't know. What could possibly be the point in saying it deliberately?
I think you're giving her too much credit.

13. To make the point that she supports the Constitution . . .
. . . that belongs to the Righties, not that other Constitution that they talk about in law school.

On a practical level, it's that she *belongs to the group* that supports the Rightie Constitution.
