I'm not exactly sure what year this is from, but it doesn't look too old.

"Why, why, why, why, why is it that most of the people against abortion are people you wouldn't want to fuck in the first place?"

1. I loved it!!!
Just came from watching it. I liked the part where George says about the anti abortionists: "If you thing a fetus is more important than a woman, try getting one to wash the sh-- stains out of your underwear." Couldn't help but laugh at that one.

2. Watch ANY of his stuff.
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 01:04 AM by nothingtoofear
ESPECIALLY his newest CD/DVD Life is Worth Losing when he talks about the American Consumer Economy and America's Big Business "Owners". Also of interest, What Am I Doing in New Jersey, in which he talks about the Reagan Administration. Or of course, classic Carlin, the Seven Words You Can't Say on TV and Radio which led to the SJC decision that led directly to the language censorship of radio and TV, for real I'm not kidding.

In general he really, really knows his stuff about the neo-con insurgency and has been screaming about it since Reagan. He's an avowed no-bullshit liberal and a hardline atheist. Everyone should see at least some of his stuff. Coincidently, I would recommend seeing him in person, he is still touring (age 70 I believe), but the tickets can be pricey. I believe he's in Vegas for the rest of the year. Do try to see him while you can, he may not be around too much longer. I've seen him twice live, he's phenomenal.

It has been 3 years since I last saw Carlin in person. He's one of my very few all-time greats.

5. Yeah
I saw him this past May and he's still got it. It's especially impressive for a man of his age to do what he does. BTW he's working on new material at the moment and might have a new album by late in 2008 or early 2009. We'll see.

13. "Tragedy struck the parade route today...
Edited on Fri Aug-03-07 09:28 PM by nothingtoofear
as an open manhole claimed the lives of 1200 marchers one at a time."

On fat people: "Enormous piles of redundant protoplasm lumbering about the mall like a fleet of interstate buses."

"Thou shalt not kill. Murder. The fifth commandment. But if you think about it...if you think about it, religion has never really had a problem with murder. Not really. No, more people have been killed in the name of God than for any other reason. All you have to do...all you have to do is look at slavery, the Middle East, the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Holocaust, and the World Trade Center, and you'll see how seriously the religious folks take "Thou Shalt Not Kill." The more devout they are...the more devout they are, the more they see murder as negotiable...it's negotiable. It depends, you know? It depends, it depends on who's doing the killing, and who's getting killed."

"Here's another bunch of ignorant shit: school uniforms. Bad theory. The idea that if kids wear uniforms to school it helps keep order. Don't these schools do enough damage makin' all these kids think alike? Now they're gonna get 'em to look alike too? And it's not a new idea. I first saw it in news reels from the 1930s, but it was hard to understand 'cause the narration was in German! "

But my all time favorite: "Here's a bumper sticker I'd like to see: 'We are the proud parents of a child whose self esteem is sufficient that he doesnt need us promoting his minor scholastic achievments on the back of our car.' "
