7. Well, that wasn't exactly the takeaway I got.
I prefer the battle of ideas. But yes, it's pretty scary.

4. Reconstructionists are a pretty scary lot.

They want to replace the Constitution and Bill of Rights with Biblical law. One could only imagine what Life would be like with Religious police roaming the streets looking for those who break God's Laws. Probably not too much different than life in Saudi Arabia.

6. Holy crap. I've spent time lounging around the Fuller Theological Seminary where this started.
It's in Pasadena and has a campus-like area that's shady and green. A nice place to stroll through now and then. I had no idea it was a hotbed of Jihadist Christians.

I posted a video that contains a good debunking of the Rapture by New Testament scholar Barbara Rossing just over a year ago:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=385x278196">New Testament scholar Barbara Rossing debunks "the Rapture"
(http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=385&topic_id=278196&mesg_id=278370">Post 12 has a more detailed history of the 'Rapture' going back to its very beginning when Darby visited a young girl who was having 'visions' in Scotland in the 1830s, too)

I also did some research into this during the election. I found out a lot of really scary stuff about Plain's involvement with this lunatic movement while I was carrying out a campaign on Facebook against the Palin cult, I posted the results in a reply, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=385&topic_id=278196&mesg_id=278498">here. I'll post them here as well for easy access.

Sarah Palin, the pastor and the prophecy: judgment day is not far away

Alexi Mostrous in Wasilla, Alaska

At the Wasilla Assembly of God Church, Sarah Palin’s former pastor sees powerful signs that the end of the world is nigh.

Pastor Ed Kalnins cites conflict in the Middle East, America’s dependence on foreign oil and the depletion of energy reserves as evidence that “storm clouds are gathering”. He told The Times: “Scripture specifically mentions oil instability as a sign of the Rapture. We’re seeing more and more oil wars. The contractions of the fulfilment of prophecies are getting tighter and tighter.”

He declined to set an exact date for the Rapture, or the “End of Days” – the belief in a time when Jesus will return, raising up believers to Heaven and leaving the wicked to be ruled by the Antichrist – but hopes it will be in his lifetime. “I’m looking out the window and I can see it’s going to rain,” he said. “I’m just looking at the turmoil of the world, Iraq, other places – everywhere people are fighting against Christ.”

11. I couldn't listen
When I hear what right-wing Christians want to do, I just want to vomit. And I'm a Christian myself.
