I cried over this disaster, I'm sure others did to, so I made a video for them. Three of the victims caused by the mismanaging of tax funds being used for the Iraq invasion, instead of infrastructure in our own country, are pictured right before the end. I just cannot imagine the horror running through everyone's mind as they were on that bridge as it caved.

blessings to all of DU in your own life and trials.

1. I cried, too
There is a Sufi community in the Twin Cities, and I have been over that bridge on the way to joyous reunions with them. My heart goes out to those who lost loved ones and to those who are injured, for they felt like my brothers and sisters.

About 8 million Iraqis, nearly a third of the population, need immediate emergency aid because of the humanitarian crisis caused by the Iraq war, relief agencies said Monday. Those Iraqis are in urgent need of water, sanitation, food and shelter, said the report by Oxfam and the NGO Coordination Committee network in Iraq.(AP)

I read where Baghdad has been without water for days. Is this what 1 Trillion Dollars can buy?

12. yep, double pronged sword
we're aiding in destroying much there, and the mis-administration is ignoring needs here (Katrina, Vet care, Food & Health crisis, infrastructure, border mercenaries on the way) thanks!

10. wow- how touching
thank you for posting this. I feel so sorry for the people of MSP, but in actuality, it could have happened in a lot of places as our infrastructure has been neglected.
