WALLACE: You said, I never considered myself a maverick.

MCCAIN: Well, all I — what I was saying was that I have considered myself a person who’s a fighter. I wouldn’t be around today if I wasn’t a fighter. I fight for the things that I believe in, and sometimes that’s called a maverick. Sometimes that’s called a partisan. And people can draw their own conclusions. I prefer great American myself, but…

WALLACE: So are you running away from the maverick title…

MCCAIN: No, of course not.

WALLACE: … because somehow it indicates that maybe you’re not a true blue conservative?

1. He's an un-mavericky maverick who talks straight when lying no longer works

2. I suppose he only has one house now too - not. Liars never prosper, Johnny boy

He's gone from the GOP candidate for President representing the Republicans for their national office to a flailing, pitiful old lying coot, pitching excuses left and right to try and cling to his status as 'important'. He's not important. He is insignificant, hence a primary challenge putting him in his newest 8th house... the dog house.

that maverick has seen better days...

4. What's the point?
I mean I seriously don't know why the guy doesn't retire. It's always been clear to me he's only been a senator the last 15 years or so because it was the way for him to become president, which he clearly has so desperately wanted.

Now that it is clear he will never become president, and since it is unlikely he will ever even become majority leader, it does make one wonder why he continues on.

5. Big Problem for Arizona
Edited on Sun Apr-18-10 01:41 PM by SargeUNN
McCain is no good, Hayworth is even worse, and the big question is will Glassman get enough support to defeat the winner of McCain/Hayworth? If the Democrats fall in and fight to help elect Glassman it would be a big victory and hopefully that will happen. The talk is which is more beatable for Glassman, McCain or Hayworth and the general feeling is Hayworth since he is such an extremist and doesn't have the money that McCain would have. Big problem because of all the IFs and should Hayworth win both primary and general, then he will be more horrible than McCain or Kyl. We got to support Glassman so please donate if you can. Here is Glassman's website: http://rodneyglassman.com

9. The problem is, he NEVER had a clue about anything to begin with.
I guess he was just there for the Keating five. Aside from that, not much else.

PLUS, he's the jerk who made that dangerous fool palin 'famous' now and we're going to be stuck with that twit for much too long now.

12. He managed to fool a lot of people for a long time
Until he ran for president, I didn't know what a mean spirited, self-serving scumbag he was. Now he appears to be losing his mind as well.

11. I can't even imagine this clown as President.
He is a national embarrassment. He is also a typical republican, which is pretty much the same thing.
