9. Was there not a report recently that M.Leader Boehner(Hous) actually
told the Bankers something very very close to: You should be
contributing to our Party---we are the only thing standing
between you and Financial Reforms.

18. yep
Boehner then added that the bankers should be standing up for themselves against “those little punk staffers” trying to write new regulations....

In February, Boehner met “over drinks” with JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, where he “made a pitch” for Wall Street support by explaining that “Republicans had stood up to Mr. Obama’s efforts to curb pay and impose new regulations.” Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, “said he visited New York about twice a month to try to tap into Wall Street’s ‘buyers remorse’” with Democrats. These pitches had some effect too; last year, “major Wall Street players began sending an increasing share of their donations to Republicans.”

Prior to Boehner’s speech, American Bankers Association President Edward Yingling urged delay in the financial reform effort, because “every day that passes gives more leverage to .” In his career, Boehner has received $3.4 million from the financial services industry, which is $1.2 million more than he’s received from any other industry.

11. Did she really expect he'd answer that question honestly?
Edited on Mon Apr-19-10 01:48 AM by PinkFloyd
He would have to tell her, "Yeah, we're big sell outs. We met with Wall Street executives and they offered us tons of cash to kill financial reform so they can pull the same shit they pulled that got us into this mess. But fear not, Ol' Corney and me will vote for the next bailout just like we voted for the first. We're really full of shit you understand?"

17. Mitch Mc Connell
lies like carpet on a floor with no padding. He is the champion of think tank propaganda. He read from the Luntz memo point for point on the congressional floor. And he has forty other mouthpieces to repeat those same talking points. I have been waiting on his memo explaining the size of the million dollar donation from toyota. Isn't there a toyota plant in his state. Don't tell me he was one of the governors and henchmen alike who were mad at the black flight to the north for jobs in the auto industry. See unless you lived in the south you probably wouldn't know about it. My Grandmother told me about how all those farmers and southern land owners and businessmen were mad at the north with there car factories hiring black folk. there were a lot of people who were leaving for better wages. I was told by her and my uncles that sharecropping was still going on in the fifties and early sixties. And if it wasn't that, there was the low wage work force that the south has been trying to capitalize on since forever. She also said that they tried to forge the gap with undocumented workers.Which some said were only here for temporary work because they couldn't find anyone to work in the fields as pickers for cotton, fruits, and vegetables.when in all actuality they brought a lot of them here and when they would line up for day work they started picking the undocumented workers because they would work for less than the low wage they were paying. Then once they got them a few days they offered them steady work. When they wanted more they would threaten with deportation or remind them how they were here illegally and they should thank them for giving them any work at all. texas was the leader of this era.:puke: :puke: :puke:
