8. Interesting, but this has nothing directly to do with Dennis Kucinich's message |

2. Parma, OH is not exactly Haight-Ashbury or Berkley. |
|
The suburb of Cleveland is as average as one can get. I can't watch the movie from here, but I don't find Kucinich to be much of a radical. It only seems that way because the other candidates are so cautious (some would say spineless.)

of being pretty racist.
Meh, I went to H.S. there and I recall some pretty WT outlooks from many classmates. I remember we had one black student our sophmore year. A fellow classmate called her some nasty names. I always regretted not calling him out on it... She left our school within a few months.

11. Regrettably, that reputation is pretty well founded. |

It is a pocket of white next door to a majority Black city.

12. Some of the violence that has happened over the past few years hasn't helped |
|
Like the woman who was raped and killed going out to her van at Parmatown mall a few years ago. The Mary Jo Pesho case. I remember a bunch of people talking that it had to be a black kid who did it. Turned out to be a white (Italian American like me no less) guy...just shows the mentality.

This really isn't a fair characterization. I really doubt the racist elements of that area would vote for a liberal, peace-nick, "pinko" like Kucinich. I don't think I approve of this kind of brushstroke.
Racism can be found anywhere. Sadly.

14. Not all liberal interests are especially enlightened. |
|
Blue collar and union workers who are the backbone of DK's constituency are not necessarily liberal on other things. Please DK has excellent name recognition among all groups from when he was mayor of Cleveland.

Many of the candidates in the democratic field have a backbone of labor interests (save possibly the DLC-free trade crowd). I don't think I have to point out that Labor has long been an ally of the democratic party.
In seeming to jab Kucinich with this nonsense you have also managed to give a slap in the face to organized labor, treating them as if they were the selfsame hardhats of the sixties. Are you aware of the make up of modern organized blue collar labor? It certainly bears little resemblence to the so-called 'blue collar comedians' that grace Comedy Central.
Am I to imagine only the management class and the white collars are somehow enlightened enough to be free of such racism? Of course! This would explain why white collar jobs are so evenly distributed amongst various ethnicities. Give me a break.
Rather than taking weird angled and improbable strikes at Kucinich, why not actually try to come up with an issue where Hillary fares better than Kucinich.
Good luck with that.

|
And they've repeatedly been taken for granted and betrayed by a good 1/3 of the party- particularly the corporatist Clinton wing.

Regardless of income level or actual ethnic composition (other than generally European descent), generally ignorant racist knuckledraggers who blame all of their problems on someone else: liberals, Jews, Democrats, blacks, hispanics as well as revel in low culture and are generally anti-education... There is a commonly associated with the word 'poor' but there are indeed 'Wealthy White Trash' (e.g. Brittany Spears.) The British version are often refered to as 'chavs' but that intones a different lifestyle as well.
I suppose many FReeps would fit in this category but not all.

"too bad he doesn't have a chance" ??????? "The Secret" was BIG a while ago. If you bought the book or video, you could improve your situation by employing it's techniques. It works by the law of attractions, therefore if you write down/think positive; you can alter the course of your life. ( It is harder than one would think to banish negative thoughts from your mind; we have all aquired negative tapes from our childhood experiences.) And the motives have to be pure! The attack on Iraq did NOT change the reality on the ground, as advertised & promised, because the intent was evil! The neocons, despite their strutting hubris failed! It worked quite well for me as a single Mother/Artist, with the motivation to do the best for my kids! It empowered me, gave me confidence, enabled me to frame the right words............Magically another free lance job would come my way when needed! I admit, it's a lot harder in today's society! There's a lot of cognative disonant debris to steer around,.........Equate that to listening to the radio when weather conditions cause a lot of static! However; It STILL works! If every one of us; would rid our minds of the uncertainties, negative thoughts about Dennis' candidacy and EXPECT HIM TO WIN! Vote for him in the primary..............and if he isn't chosen as the Dem candidate who runs...........................write him in on the ballot, on election day. He WILL WIN. Because his motives are pure and he is the best thing for this country! He has worked hard and devotedly, never straying from the correct path for many years.............NOT for the prize! but for the Common Good! HE is the quintessential latter day Abe Lincoln: homely, lived in a car ( not cabin) brilliant and compelling! ANd wouldn't it be a treat to have the lovely Elizabeth as the First Lady?

6. Every time I hear Congressman Kucinich speak, I become more |
|
convinced that he is the only hope for this country. We simply cannot sustain, as a nation, another 4 or 8 years of "business as usual". Dennis is the only candidate, regardless of party, who is ready for change - out of the gate. All of the other candidates are just more of the same old politics that got us into the shape and position we are in today. We must have change, we have to turn things around, make things different - Kucinich is the one we need, the one we must have. I just wish that for once, Americans could just come together, let the blood flow back into their brains, and vote intelligently, just for once. Then Kucinich would win and we could start to regain our country. Kucinich is a long shot, no doubt about it, but this one, lone, long shot is all we have left...

31. I just followed the OP link to this... |
|
It's an interview with Ann Curry. And by "interview" I mean a way for Curry to openly attack Kucinich for having the wherewithal to avoid her verbal traps. He did a beautiful job, though. The whole thing gave me more respect for Kucinich and made me wonder whether a write-in campaign for an MSNBC debate between right-leaning Curry and truth-leaning Olbermann might be in order. He'd wipe the stage with her, MSNBC would get a ratings boost and I'd watch it on TiVO until the hard drive gives out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgreLLMbbZk

I fear that this is a beauty contest and it is too important to be based on that. We have to take charge here, WE do. WE have to put a stop to the big corporations and do something about health care and global warming. We can't waste anymore time by choosing someone on looks alone.
