2. If only I could be so proud of my Senators...
It must be nice to have such a forward looking intelligent Senator. I am stuck down here in the "Land of the Stupid"...With such "great minds" as Senators Johnny Isakson & Saxby Chamblis and "Great Independent Thinking" Congressmen like Rep. Phil Gingrey who had to apologize on air to Rush Limbaugh in early 2009 for daring to say Rush Limbaugh does not speak for the Republican Party! I hate saying that about my home state but then again we really don't have a choice where we are born, do we?

6. he's better than Kent Conrad
But overall, North Dakota makes better choices than its twin to the south, South Dakota. Imagine if you had that complete tool John Thune representing you.

7. 1994- he saw it coming, Notice how the S&L thing was washed away but with the internet....
and interactive media (meaning it is out of the control of a few) the entire blowup of 2008 is dissected and explained.

Funny that huh?

9. ID cards "fascist"?! really?!
Edited on Sun May-02-10 01:42 AM by szatmar666
EVERY country in the world with a very few exceptions has them: that means all of them are fascist police states?! The fact is that the USA where you have no national ID card is much more of a police state than let's say Germany or the Netherlands. You have more freedom to travel and work internationally if you are a european than if you live in the US and most of that has to do with economic wealth distribution rather than ID cards. In Amsterdam the police can stop you and ask for your ID card and take you in for questioning if you don't have it on you. Nevertheless in the Netherlands incarceration rates are about 1/1500 while in the USA 1/136. Compared to the Netherlands the US police acts like an apartheid occupation force and US sentencing guides are medieval.

10. "Papers Please" -- yes, that IS fascist, whether it's Arizona or Vermont.
Yep, that IS fascist. To you, if it's implemented by a Democrat like Schumer, it's OK, even if it will be used in Arizona to detain & arrest brown-skinned people.

Apparently, it doesn't occur to you that there is NO difference between Arizona's law & Schumer's.

Apparently, to you, the end justifies the means.
