1. This IS the face of Amurika.
My pitchfork is sharpened and my boots are saddle-soaped for when we can band together to say "enough is enough".

2. A few things

1. Ana accidentally said San Francisco at one point when she meant Oakland. Honest mistake, TYT has no teleprompters.

2. I've been pushing Cenk hard to cover prop 13 and I finally got through to him. He didn't mention it in this video, but he did briefly discuss it on the show and hopefully he'll do it again in more detail. At any rate, if you ever hear someone talking about how California represents a failure of liberal ideas, shove this http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1907504,00.html?iid=sphere-inline-bottom|great Time Magazine article> down their throat (or at least read it so you know the truth).

PS---The Guardian wrote an awesome article about TYT that includes which Senator refuses to be interviewed by Cenk again and more!

4. Thank the whole team for me, yourself included. Unless I am misinformed, my understanding is
you're part of the crew. I think they/you do a great job.

Having been a teenager from the greater L.A. area during the passage of 13, I recognized Oregon's (my home state now since '86) property ballot measure 5 in the mid 90's when I saw it as similar and told people why it would be a bad idea. Not enough listened. The same kind of municipality driven restitution tactics being used against a citizenry struggling to cope with the pervasive corruption and greed by its own most fortunate is apparent and breathtakingly disappointing.

21. Thanks!
We're launching something really exciting soon. It's so exciting that even non-TYT fans are going to like it.

How's that for a tease?

;)

22. Very nicely, tyvm.

Might I cajole you into providing an eta on when I might expect the agony of anticipation to subside?

Can I help? Produced some radio news for awhile last year, been tethered close to home and ferreting as best I can from here for no audience or purpose outside of DU, and a great many don't much seem to favor my gabby ways or diligent fool from a distant hill nature.

23. I'm hoping we can launch it sometime this month.
But the logistics need to be worked out. We're pretty well staffed although another project we're launching this summer will involve more audience participation...

you will continue to hear it every day, how California represents a failure of liberal ideas.

3. Statistically I'm sure poor people are much less likely to contest a parking ticket-
- as they are much more used to being squashed by City Hall. They will much more likely just fork over the money, whereas a rich person may show up with a $400-an-hour lawyer to contest a $200 parking ticket and a "you can't do this to me- I'm rich" attitude.

This is merely an extension of the special-interest-rates-for-well-qualified-buyers mentality of this country.

5. TYT, picking on those poor rich folks again
Edited on Sat May-01-10 07:30 PM by Capitalocracy
Stupid liberals, always complaining about the rich. Wanting to punish our most productive citizens, the ones who work the hardest and give us all jobs.

:sarcasm:

Whoever leaked this memo deserves a medal. K&R :toast:

6. And furthermore, they're actually doing it for the sake of the poor.
We use punishment to discourage unwanted things, right? So what better way to eliminate poverty than to punish people for being poor? When they learn not to be poor, we'll all be better off.

7. Funny, they keep punishing me and punishing me...
and I still haven't figured out how to be rich. Perhaps I have a learning disability.

8. That reminds me.
We oughtta be able to eliminate LDs too by ending the policy of rewarding the learning disabled by providing special programs for them.

10. Have you considered crime? If you steal enough you can buy your own congressman.
The trick is to not get caught until you steal enough.

11. This sounds like a class-action for some lucky law firm. Some rich guys can leverage this into
personal profit, at least.

13. Reminds me of my days in Chicago
The cops would cruise Oak Street Beach and search the coolers and bags of anyone that they didn't think belonged there, while driving right by yuppies holding open beer cans with a wave and a smile. Most of the Chicago cops I ran across definitely earned the nickname "pig".

18. I am to the point where TYT is a very integral source.
Having to divide my time up and having less for my own political research I am so glad Cenk in on this path. He's ahead of the pack and as such it will take time for the masses to catch up. If they ever do.

19. oakland is at war with is citizens...at least those who aren't wealthy
parking is a complete scam in oakland. they've raised the rates so much that a quarter only buys you seven minutes. they enforce parking in areas where people are most vulnerable, e.g., near hospitals. it is long past time that this scam was exposed.
