with great guests and discussions. Bob Menendez(NJ) was on and said his new bill that raises the liability to 10b would be retroactive. The Big Oil Bailout Prevention Act is being introduce by Senators Nelson of FL, Frank Lautenberg and Bob Menendez of NJ If you spill it, you should have to fill it,” says Menendez.”There is no such thing as a ‘Too Big to Spill’ oil well, which is why we need this economic protection in placeRead more: http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dc/2010/05/bill-would-raise-bill-on-oil-s.html#ixzz0mxsi0rXrNow whether it will pass or not is indeed another story.

12. Who am I? I am the answer to America's problems that the greedy rich refuse to allow. I'm the 95% of |
|
Americans who realize that if we don't come to balance with our finite resources and make major changes to business as usual we will not survive as a democracy. I am the ghost of Thomas Jefferson speaking out against the efforts to silence me and exclude me from American History by our nation's enemies posing as patriots.
"IT TAKES A REPUBLICAN NEOCON CONSERVATIVE TO DIVIDE AND RUIN OUR NATION FOR PERSONAL GREED...OUR NATION AND MOST OF THE CIVILIZED WORLD.
GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE PROBLEM AND DOES AN AMAZING JOB IN GETTING 380MILLION+ PEOPLE LIVING IN THE BEST OF CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF PROBLEMS.
IT IS US, OUR GOVERNMENT WHICH IS BEING BRIBED AND BOUGHT BY AN ARMY OF LOBBYISTS REPRESENTING THE ULTRA RICH AND THEIR MULTINATIONAL CORPORATIONS WHOSE GOAL IS TO KEEP US DIVIDED, MANIPULATE THE "SHOCK DOCTRINE" AND TURN US INTO SLAVES TOO AFRAID TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST THEIR TYRANNY.
THE WORLD BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE AND THE ONLY RACE THERE IS...THE HUMAN RACE.
iT IS THE TRYANNY OF THE MULTINATINAL CORPORATIONS THAT MUST BE OVERCOME ...NOT THE GOVERNMENT...FOR WE ARE THE GOVERNMENT..WE 'ELECT' FROM AMONG OUR PEERS NOT ELECTED FOR US BY SOME CORPORATE BOARD. LOOK WHAT THEY'VE DONE TO OUR EARTH... THE NINE "LEAST" TERRIFYING WORDS IN TH ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARE......"I'M FROM YOUR GOVERNMENT AND I'M HERE TO HELP". OUR GOVERNMENT IS THE SOLUTION.

13. I've been saying this for decades... |
|
In fact, I wrote a short article about it in DU over a year ago about this very thing.
Here is a recap of what needs to happen:
1. Nationalize ALL industries that deal with energy, transportation, and chemicals. 2. In fact, nationalize ALL corporations over 500 employees 3. Eliminate the traditional republicanized corporate boards that advocate profit before employee welfare, environmental considerations, and consumer safety, and replace them with democratic, progressive citizen boards that promote an organization that promotes just wages for employees, does not destroy the environment, and ensure the consumer is not screwed by shoddy product. 4. On the same lines, eliminate ALL free trade agreements with ALL other countries. This will ensure that the other countries develop their own, progressive industry that maintains fairness for their workers and protects the environment. 5. Immediately eliminate 25% of defense spending, instead allotting it to minority-run businesses who promote products to countries who will now be our friends once we eliminate the republican menace.
Since then, we've been working on changes, thanks to President Obama's courageous attack against orgiastic capitalism. Unfortunately, we need to ensure that the republicans do NOT steal the multitude of elections this November to have any chance of making a dent.
Bottom line, we need to eliminate capitalism as we know it if we are to have any chance at survival. Period.

Rachel should not use the term "Clean up" in reference to any efforts partook by BP.
"Clean up" is a soundbite. Not part of reality. The real "Clean up" will be accomplished by leaving the whole freaking ocean alone for about a hundred years.
Another incorrect term:
"Defense spending" = Military spending.

15. Well are first mistake is thinking that the U.S. government |

isn't a company. Thats capitalism. Precious capitalism. We needs the precious. I' am 28 years old and in the past 15 years I have slowly realized that I have been lied to my whole entire life. When I was younger I actually believed that the United States was the greatest country in the world. LMFAO. That was after I learned the true reason for every war the United States has been a part of, was for Profit. Maybe with the exception of World War II but no doubt alot of american companies profited from both sides of that war. The Indian slaughters all for expansion of empire and profit. Sounds greedy, is greedy, and not great, our country was founded for profit not "Freedom". George Washington was no poor boy. Neither were any of the other founding fathers. They were all rich old money families from England and were tired of being taxed by a king 3000 miles away. They wanted more profit from the new land. The normal man who worked for a living could care less about what England was doing it didn't bother them. There tax was no larger than it is now, or usually didn't exist. Heck, If we were still part of England at least we would have free health care. The United States Government is more so of a corporation than it has ever been, and it started that way. The straight ludicrousness that you can buy any politicians vote takes greatness right out of the equation and replaces it with Draconian Imperialist Rome. He with the most gold wins every time. And he with the most gold didn't get that gold from being nice to people. He with the most gold got that gold by being greedy, backstabbing, bribing, blackmailing, and cheap. So do you think any lobbyist or politician who will be bought has the american peoples best interests in mind? I think not.

profit points on the second quarter portfolio BP. I bet you guys were really pumping some barrels before that thing blew. But ooooh to bad the 3rd quarter wont be looking so hot in the gulf of mexico. But BP might be able to bump up some profit on the 4th quarter portfolio by using one of its contractors as a clean up crew and have U.S. citizens donate money to the cause at your local grocery store or just have the company you work for take a little out on your next paycheck and donate to there fuck up, I mean green cause to save the wetlands.

And who will pay for a huge share, if not all of the cleanup? U.S. taxpayers.
A BIL and I were discussing alternative fuels. He was arguing that oil is cheaper and any alternative sources of energy has to be subsidized to remain viable. To which I replied that the oil industry is heavily subsidized. Look at the Middle East. U.S. military ships are protecting the shipping lanes in the Persian Gulf, paid for by U.S. taxpayers. The BIL argued that not all of that oil is for U.S. consumption to which I said it makes it even more ludicrous. Why are U.S. taxpayers protecting oil shipments for OTHER countries? He could only give me one of those "Rush didn't tell me how to respond to this" look.
