The economic impact of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill is quickly becoming apparent as fisherman, resort owners, and other people dependent on the Gulf for their livelihood are joining a massive class action lawsuit against BP for destroying their way of life. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. appears on MSNBC to discuss the basis for the lawsuit, as well as some of the economic impacts we can expect from the spill.

1. have heard this dispersant
that BP is using has it's own environmental impact. A type of soap that is suppose to break up the oil into smaller particles and puts it on the seabed. Dangerous to aquatic life. I think it was on Maddow's show last night that a wildlife expert said they're still finding oil on the bottom of Prince William Sound in Alaska over 20 years later. All this over someone's idea to be cheap rather than prudent. :eyes:

2. BP does not follow normal safety precautions in America?
Lax attitude by the minerals management agencies didn't use an acoustic regulator. a mechanism to shut down manufacture that is used on it's british rigs, or a shut off valve, drilled way below it's permit limitations.

So 41 % of our seafood in America is in jeopardy along with a million jobs..

The President of Water Keeper Alliance opposes dispersion that BP is using right now because it puts dispersions into the water way and damage the fish. Time for those who destroyed so many resources, and peoples way of life to have to listen to Robert Kennedy Jr.
