3. I wonder about that as well.
Who, besides Fed officials & financial crooks, would NOT want the Fed audited?

13. Even by opposing this audit
Obama is sending (through Rahm and Geithner) an unmistakable message to the American people. "Wall street comes first." If President Obama doesn't fire these thieves, he is proving that he is for the wealthy and actually opposed to main street. If he wants any "ordinary citizen" support, (the 80% that owns 3% of the wealth), he must fire these elitists and support the audit of the FED. It is our money. Transparency? Bullshit.:wtf:

22. "Wall street comes first."
What, you didn't already know that before the elections? I'm very surprised... It's been that way for over 30 years.. Nobody seems to care enough to vote the thieves out of office, except to put in their own thieves... Round 'n round it goes..

17. Because
He's down with it.

These are his hand picked right hand men.

This is the Obama administration

Why do people think just because Obama was portrayed with a rosy progressive image on the corporate television that he's really not a neolib corporatist?

7. Ron Paul is against the Federal Reserve
and he's a free market fundamentalist all the way. If the Fed is too much privatization even for a guy like him, then it's way out of line. Why in the world did we think it was a good idea to privatize the issuing of currency?

20. But that is what Emanuel is working toward
Edited on Wed May-05-10 11:53 AM by ooglymoogly
If he can't get pugs with a D after their name (the MA election), then fuck it, drop the pretense and just put pugs back in charge. Then O can look good again, fighting the good fight, against a backdrop of true lunacy and corporatocracy can continue to rule under the camouflage of kabuki theater and cover up its theft in secrecy and O can pretend he is against what he is not. He does not like it when the pivot is on him and he has to show his true colors. He is now also behind the move to smother freedom of the internet; Handing over control to ,once again, to corporate America.

24. And when they go down in flames
we can give everything back to the republicans, exactly the way it's supposed to work. Change one villain for the other.. So the 40 year career bureaucrats can keep their jobs.

Burr, McCaskill Flip-Flop for Wall Street on Audit the Fed
Richard Burr and Claire McCaskill are signaling that they will flip-flop on Audit the Fed in order to protect Wall Street’s secret bailouts from scrutiny.

Burr and McCaskill are among 67 Senators who either voted for or cosponsored Audit the Fed in the past year...

But now that Bernie Sanders has offered Audit the Fed an amendment in the Senate, Wall Street is very much engaged, and the Obama administration is actively whipping against it on their behalf. Burr and McCaskill are just two that they will need to flip in order to sink it, though — they’ll have to find 8 or 18 rotating villains depending on whether Reid forces a 50- or 60-vote hurdle...

Was McCaskill asleep when she cast her vote in favor of the Audit the Fed amendment in April of last year? And what about Burr — not only did he vote for the amendment, he’s also a cosponsor of S.604, which is the Senate version of H.R. 1207.

even fine tuning. Just Washington Business as Usual.

Give me back my Obama. This one, you can have.

29. Yes we did... with our approval of the selection
If the voting system is a sham, it's because we made it that way. The money issue is bullshit. All we have to do is turn our backs to the propaganda machine, and a gazillion dollars won't make a bit of difference. We are the ones that give campaign fundage its value. And we can take it away, IF we want to. Instead the average voter is saying, "Give me convenience, or give me death". - Where is ol' boy these days? I miss him...

30. The election was narrowed down for us
Edited on Wed May-05-10 06:23 PM by ooglymoogly
to two candidates by corporate media, both corporate insiders; Neither truly better than the other: Though I now think Clinton the smarter and the least likely to sell the country and the constitution, down the river, as O is doing over and over and over and over. Have there been a few good moments?....a few obvious crumbs?....Even a blind pig finds a truffle now and again. We were had from the get go. Hell we were had from the blatantly crooked 2000 election. Anyone with any real honesty and integrity was eliminated early in the races as far back as any of us care to remember. Think Dean and the manipulated sound, played in a loop 24/7 if you need just one good example.
