1. If this is how we allow police to treat the innocent, how do they get to treat
the guilty?

2. What about the woman cop who stomped on him? Free ride? Hope not.

Even in brutality woman seem to accept a secondary role to men in horrendous acts? Or is it just rank that lets the male kick the head whiel the female stomps the arm?

I can't get the image of the woman or women nurses standing and watching the brutality against a boy in a juvenile prison? in northern Florida?

I am so angry with my country - where do these cops get off taking the law into their hands. How many videos is it going to take to get their superiors to do something - to get rid of their own racism and not permit it?

I want more for this country - I want it to be what it claims to be.

In the meantime we are watching crime, race, gender, wealth, celebrity hypocrisy every day - from political leaders and reverends who talk against homosexuality while they participate in it to cops who are supposed to come up with solutions, not brutality. To Wall Street who is all for someone being kicked out of their house because of the rotten loan that was designed for them and approved by a Bank president and then their bundling of it using their manipulative minds of deception to bring the country down to their knees.

We are a colossal land of hypocrisy,

For those who think of us as a Republic - welcome to the criminal Republic.

This stuff really hurts. Every week we have something like this. Stomp on his arm? That is pure hate in the heart. Kick him in the head? Pure hate in the heart.

So sad. So pathetic. The tourist should stay away until we get our problems straightened out.

9. Just think about how many times this happens...
and is not caught on video?!?!? My guess is this incident would have been much worse had the police not noticed they were being filmed! You can see when they notice they are being filmed and then they chill out.

This incident will be like all the others across the nation...It will be described as an isolated incident, the cops will get a slap on the wrist and everything will go back to normal!

11. Exactly Skydaddy
the only reason this is "an isolated incident" is because there are not videographers all over the nation catching the atrocities on film. The police are para-military institutions, nationwide. They are trained and encouraged to treat people like shit for their own "protection." I am old enough to remember when "to protect and serve" meant just that. Of course, there were always some assholes who wanted revenge for the bullies they encountered in H.S. Now, they seek out sociopaths and train them to be brutal. The elites count on them to be there when this house of cards crashes.

Fox affiliate refuses to air video of cops brutalizing innocent Latino, even though ...

the video was shot by one of their own employees. The money quote was "We'll beat the f*****ng Mexican out of you, Homey!"
When the photographer who shot the video took it to his employers, Seattle Fox affiiliate KCPQ (Q-13), he was told, "We're definitely not going to run that." Eventually, the piece was aired by a competitor. More "fairness and balance" from the most trusted name in news.

The man was released when the officers realized he was not involved in the reported crime.

PS... A few days after he shot the video, he was fired, Morris said.

"I've shot a lot of news. This, by far, is the most important news story I've ever shot," said Morris.

7. guess Fox thought he should have burned the tape

he's smart enough to know that Fox is a losing proposition and firing him was the best thing that could happen to him

10. To serve and protect
Sadly the SPD has a long and sordid history of beating and killing racial minorities with impunity. A few years ago one of the local daily newspapers published a story about the number and location of homicide by cop over the last 20 years. All of the victims as I recall were Black and their murders took place in what is called the Central District. There were a 2-3 exceptions to the neighborhood but overwhelmingly the crimes were in the CD. Not a single cop was ever charged or prosecuted for these homicides. The excuse du jour is always "officer safety" and it has worked well for the SPD.

A few years ago the SPD was on a recruiting drive for new officers. It was announced in the local paper that there weren't enough qualified officer candidates in the Seattle area so recruiters were sent to military bases in North Carolina. I remember thinking at the time that recruits from the military may be combat veterans from the first war for oil and may suffer from untreated PTSD. I'm wondering the same now.
