Tool's antiwar song Right In Two with clips from Dr. Seuss's The Butter Battle Book, a commentary on the arms race for kids! Animated by Ralph Bakshi. If you don't have this book, go get it now. And read it to your kids if you have them. If you don't, go have kids and then read it to them.

2. I've been a big Bakshi fan for years-

But I never knew he did a Dr Seuss story. Also never knew Dr Seuss ever did anything this political.

Great job on the video- everything syncs up with the music very nicely, and stylistically it's very Tool-esque. Hope the copyright Nazis at YouTube let it live.

I guess Tool isn't under a huge Nazi label that puts everything into the system to be detected automatically or whatever... and maybe it helps that nobody knows my videos exist. I'd still say it's fair use though, because it makes a statement, right? Of course, since I can't afford an attorney to back it up, that wouldn't stand under legal scrutiny.

I'm glad you liked it, thanks. Like I said, go out and get the Butter Battle Book. I'd also recommend Dr. Seuss Goes to War for more political stuff... he did political cartoons advocating doing something about the rise of fascism in Europe before the U.S. got involved in WWII.

6. Actually YouTube now detects audio copyright infringement as you are uploading

Obviously Tool isn't on a label that's owned by Sony or Viacom, but if you go and look at it in "My Videos" you'll probably see a button the says 'Copyright Information', and if you click it you'll see what action the label who owns the rights has chosen to take. Most likely it will either be blocked in certain countries, or they may sell ad space on it.

They won't take a video down unless somebody actually files a claim, but if you use music from one of the more fascist labels, they'll disable the audio as soon as you upload it.

I never had a problem with that with Tool's music. The AP puts ads on my vids sometimes, which kind of bugs me because I know my use of their material fits very firmly under the definition of fair use, yet they're claiming the rights to my content and graciously allowing me to leave it up as long as they can take all the profits.
