that makes me wonder about all the gun owners. It said that Varala tried to kick the shooter and was shot. Do gun owners think they have the right to shoot somebody who knows how to defend themselves WITHOUT a gun? Even if they started the argument? Maybe this should be a separate post.

there are always idiots out there, and some of them do own guns. But no, state laws are carefully crafted to spell out what level of concern warrants using lethal force in self defense, and they will be judged by a jury of 12 sitting in a comfortable room, that did not experience what the shooter did, so they better be able to demonstrate reasonable fear for their lives.

Cenk asks why, if this wasn't racially motivated, police don't offer another explanation. But the local report says the motive is under investigation. That doesn't mean it was or wasn't, but I would like to hear what the police come up with before drawing that conclusion, especially given that these guys have been neighbors for years. There is more to the story than we know from this clip.

No, I'm not condoning or excusing murder, murderers (of all races) should be in jail, just saying I'd like all the facts before concluding if it was or wasn't racially motivated, and if so, if it was or wasn't over the new law.

he mentions an article which claims that the argument they were having that led to this shooting was about the AZ immigration law. So while I do think the police shouldn't jump to conclusions, Cenk has every reason to comment on this as being very likely to be racially motivated.
