When most Americans buy meat from their local grocery stores, they give little if any thought to how that meat made it to the store. What they probably dont want to think about is that there is a world of cruelty, biological waste, and toxins that result from the current process of animal factory farming that is spreading disease across our country. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. talks about whats really going on behind the scenes in the animal farming business with David Kirby, author of the new book Animal Factory: The Looming Threat of Industrial Pig, Dairy and Poultry Farms on Humans and the Environment.

1. Can someone please explain to me how ...
... having a few large mass production oriented businesses creates more jobs than having a lot of healthy small businesses? I think I missed that day in B-school.

2. Even those with little empathy would be stunned by the cruelty.
Factory farming leaves me more and more depressed about humanity.

No one cares or even thinks about what these animals endure.

3. The same people who cry over an oil-slicked bird
give no thought to the animals that make up the burger or chicken sandwich they ate for lunch.

My heart breaks for all the animals of the planet, that they ended up having to live with us. I wanted to say, "share this planet with us," but we don't share. We're the pinnacle of creation, after all. :eyes:
