This is one of the many reasons corporations and politicians owned by corporations want to keep cannabis/marijuana/hemp illegal! Plastics which are presently made from petroleum products which seem to never decay can also be made from cannabis and they are completely biodegradable AFAICT. Also paper, and textiles can be made from it. Building products, fuel, food, etc. And jobs!
Legalize cannabis now!

1. No wonder this amazing plant is illegal.... The more I hear about this plant the
more uses we have for it. Fuel, medicine, rope, fabric, car bodies, etc..... Hemp could bring us out of this recession....

we'd have no dependence on foreign oil, no 9/11, no wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and no oil gusher beneath the Gulf of Mexico today.

Too many people would of loss their ass who weren't invested in the industry. Timber and wood textile barons (among others) were protected by the US government. Another example of corporatism, which caused massive deforestation and pollution from processing wood pulp

8. a funny little comparison and contrast
If you want a quick education on the power of the gas and oil industry, head over to the Henry Ford Wikipedia page or to his "historic" website and give them a read. There is a lot of technical engineering details, quite a bit on his personality and politics (including the rather unsavory stuff) but NOTHING on his use, farming and production of hemp. Nothing, nada, zilch. The word "hemp" never appears in either page, despite the fact that Ford grew acres of the stuff, designed his engine to run on it and even made his freaking cars out of the fibers!

I'm sure it's just a mistake. They left it all out on accident, right?
