10. We're out of the ditch? Really?

Here's my take on this whole ditch analogy. Obama is saying we just got out of the ditch and now the Republicans want the keys back. Total agreements that the Republicans drove the car into the ditch, but to say that just because Obama won the election we're out of the ditch now is right out. That reflects this mentality that winning elections is the goal, not part of the process to reach the goal of actually improving the situation we're in. He could have said we're still trying to get the car out of the ditch and they want the keys back, that would have been more accurate, but my assessment of the situation is that now that the Democrats are in charge, we haven't pulled the car out and we're just driving along in the ditch looking for a power line pole or lake that we can drive right into.
