And listen to them on the radio.

The Republics have gone to the worst PR firms possible, addressing such things as imaginary Mexicans, imaginary gun confiscations, and the 6000 year old earth. When was the last time a "cowboy" in Northern Alabama was dressed for a costume party? It is ludicrous, but it is only Alabama Republic politics, actually they are pretty new at it. I assume the camp can only get better with time.

6. Interesting about the Ag/Gun/Cowboy Guy spot....

...a local political blog with the AJC posted this today and called it a 'great ad'...clearly Repugs down this way love this shit. My comment about it was that that little 'shashay' walk of his at the end of the spot was funny as hell, particularly given the faux John Wayne image.

7. it's brilliant in many ways

It stuffs in every bullshit Republican dog whistle possible. He whips around that gun for no reason, lol, that's fantastic. It's all designed to tell the GOP base that this guy is a gun totin', chew spittin', beer drinkin' everyman just like they are. It works. Maybe not the way it used to especially in other areas of the country but this is exactly how you win a GOP primary or an election in pure GOP territory. You have to almost be a cartoon caracter. Just look at the Republican Convention biography ads that Bush,Cheney, McCain and Palin put out the last few presidential cycles. They border on farce, a total lack of humility. It reminds me of The Simpsons when Mr. Burns made a movie about himself, lol.
