Tasing has become the most widely abused practice by law enforcement today. A non lethal weapon that was suppose to be a substitute for the pistol, the taser gives an officer the ability to harm a suspect without facing any major consequences of manslaughter that they would if they shot someone. Therefore instead of improving policing it has actually harmed the profession because it's gives the officer a lot more discretion to use such force.
Tasing shouldn't be used because your fat out of shape security guard couldn't keep up with a teenager disrupting a Philles game. Where was the kid going to go? It's not like he was going to escape in the middle of a stadium. Tasing shouldn't be used to subdued a suspect when he already has 5 people holding him down such as the kid that got tased in Florida during a John Kerry Speech. Their are no standards and no consequences for a police officer's actions when they use the taser and therefore it's practice is widely abused. It is nothing more then torture
