1. I wasn't expecting that--LOL |

How fitting that the short-sighted idiots who pushed this discriminatory law through now have to face the effects of their own stupidity: unintended consequences. To SB 1070 and the amendments, HB 2162, we can add one more number: Catch-22.

The work permits aren't issued so easily, and this means the person who is arrested is liable to be arrested over and over. If they are not making money, they turn to crime, or leave. The reality is the US system isn't working because the Federal government, under the Bush regime, decided to import millions of illegal workers. This was intended to stab the US working class in the back, by creating a large labor pool of labor, which would drive wages down.
Therefore, what is being done is damaging the US economy by damaging the ability to work for a decent wage of the American working class, especially those at the lower end of the scale. This is being noticed by the workers, who are increasingly turning to the Tea Party and other organizations to fight the alien invasion. Which means the Democrats may see a huge backlash in the forthcoming elections, as the American working class rebels against those who would profit so shamelessly and abuse the system to get rich.

11. After arrest and release, the person GETS legal status |
|
until his/her proceedings come up--probably in five years or more. So there is no prospect of re-arrest for an immigration violation. Sounds like a green card is included, too.
Did you watch the video????

13. It is actually that simple |
|
It doesn't make any sense, but that is how it works. Once the person has their first hearing (called the Master Hearing), he/she then applies for cancellation of removal and, with it, work authorization, which is usually granted within 90 days. The immigrant then has an individual hearing. Here is MA, it takes about a 1 1/2 years between those two hearings. Usually, the judge will make an up or down decision at the individual hearing, which can be appealed. This law does not solve the immigration issue. That is what common sense people who understands the problem have been saying it all along.

that a Fox station should give such a real report? I have found since I moved here 3 years ago that Fox10 is one of the better at reporting on things that normally the right doesn't like. I don't know why it is but I have had more success with them than the other stations here in Phoenix.

they used to be a CBS affiliate until the big channel shuffle. Seems like 15 is more right wing oriented.

8. Olbermann had this info in his worst persons segment a few days ago |
|
the worst person was the AZ Governor. 50% of those arrested are released and deportation hearings are running about 5 years out. And the best part is that once they have been put into the system and released, the law (not the papers please law)says they are then eligible for state drivers' licenses and to apply for jobs!! LMAO The one thing they wanted to prohibit was illegals taking jobs and getting state services and now they are putting them on a silver plate for immigrants! talks about your sweet irony!

15. And, ironically, they wanted them OUT of Arizona |
|
Now they end up granting them legal status to stay for AT LEAST five years.
This is just too delicious!
