Oil finally reached the Lousiana Coast and residents are targeting their anger toward BP. The EPA has forced BP to switch to less toxic chemical dispersant now, although 655,000 gallons of the now-banned toxic dispersant has already released into the water. Report includes exclusive video of chemical being released underwater.

________

Seems as though if our government doesn't get ahead of this, it is going to suffocate wildlife for decades in the region. And yet, still BP appears to be in complete control of the operation. So much for our government being able to respond to a disaster once again in the Gulf. I hope Obama realizes this is not going well and he will no doubt eventually have blame assigned to his administration for the lack of force at which the disaster was handled - and for giving BP free reign to lie to the American people.

omg - as the report notes, Janet Napolitano is now sending a letter to BP! ...Wow, now that is real action.

5. What Are They Gonna Do?
Edited on Fri May-21-10 02:06 PM by Mark D.
They should ask every victim they can in Louissiana, especially the business owners. What they will do. The anser will be, for making a living if their business is ruined? I don't know. Voting for a governor, senator, rep, or president. Oh, GOP! They're with me on important stuff, you know, what a couple is up to in San Fransisco, or personal reproductive health decisions made by women in far away places they don't know. Killing Afghanis by accident when trying to get 'bad guys' only to make more future 'bad guys'. You know, stay in the occupation until you win. Win what? The Bush & Cheney loving governor all upset in a populist way now about what's happenning. The same one who would have stood up against regulation and enforcement on the oil industry if he'd had the chance, before the disaster.

4. The entire episode is sickening
especially since it was avoidable by several routes.
Greed runs rampant.
