Rand Paul is certainly digging his way to the bottom of the barrel of Politics.

He says the oil disaster isn't necessarily someone's fault... 'accidents happen'. Then he goes on to say he doesn't even know how BP was regulated. Seems like he just likes to hear his own tongue wagging rather than speaking coherently about issues he knows about.

_____

Keep it up Rand - the newest Palin of the GOP Party.

2. I was wondering how the tea partiers...
...felt about the oil spill and BP. I actually thought this
was an issue under which we could all be united. Isn't it
obvious that a lack of deregulation (that BP paid our politicians
to obtain) caused this disaster?

If the tea partiers aren't in an uproar, then they truly are the
biggest political hypocrites.

This oil spill is a clear evidence that our Constitution is not being
followed--and that corporations, together with corrupt politicians--have
usurped "We The People."

Anyone know what the tea baggers are saying about the spill?

6. BP is spewing oil; Rand Paul is spewing BS.
The more he talks the more he reveals himself as shallow and despicable. How DARE Obama talk badly about BP, that is SOOOOO "un-American"! But I'm sure Rand Paul has NO problem with the millions spent by corporate interests to smear politicians on the public airwaves.

I need to check my thesaurus to see if libertarian is a synonym for hypocrite.

16. "....they're very brave people...." doh, maybe they're VERY DESPERATE people??
These men and women need to feed their families....THAT'S why they go into those stinking, dangerous coal mines. It's NOT cause they are "brave". What a moron.

A GREAT representative for the tea-baggers in this country. Let's see just how f*cked up this nation really is...or how f*cked up KY citizens are. Are they going to elect this clown? Just another male version of "the lip-stick pig".

Nation of morons.

27. I tmakes me understand why dad has never made his racial outlook public.
I can't believe Rand didn't learn this on his daddy's knee. I know what my grand-dad and dad claimed about race and I know where the old man got his racial attitudes. As a kid on somebodies knee.

The phrase "shut the fuck up you stupid douche bag" gets over-used. But in this case, it's the only appropriate response.

28. One of my jobs involves safety for a large engineering and construction firm . . .
And history and science prove Rand Paul both a fool and a villain: accidents *don't* just happen.

In properly run companies (and private homes, I might add), you institute broad and deep safety programs that educate, engage, and evolve your people so that you can literally approach zero accidents. You design processes that are so full of fail-safes and inherently-safes that even when people err (generally due to a moment's inattention), there are so many levels of procedural and physical prevention in place that there is little or no negative outcome.

So when two people die in a coal mine in Rand Paul's state, that's not an accident "just happening," it's management not doing its job correctly and allowing lethal conditions to persist until some poor schmo gets it in the neck. And when you talk about criminal enterprises like BP and Halliburton -- who make most of their money by cutting corners and turning a blind eye (sometime I'll tell the story again about how Halliburton nearly got me killed in Iraq because they we're trying to save a few bucks) -- what they call "accidents" are more accurately described as inevitable outcomes.

We went after the big shots at Enron who looted the country of billions of dollars. How about going after the BP and Halliburton big shots who've looted the entire Caribbean Basin?
