2. More democratic BS to the gay community. |

How many times will we be tricked into believing they are truly supportive of equality? Every time something is passed - if anything even manages to get passed - it is virtually toothless. I live in a state where it is illegal, but it did nothing to stop a former employer for firing all the gay management employees in our department. The only reason every other gay wasn't also terminated is because they have a union.

4. No, I think they will do it right before the election. They |

have so angered the base on so many issues that they have to throw them something to get them out to work for their re-election. DADT is an easy issue right now and should have been passed long ago, but since they don't intend to do anything else we wanted them to do, I believe they held this up until probably around September when it will most likely pass.
Then, we are supposed to forget everything else, feel so incredibly grateful that we will be out doing what we did in 2006-08 once again. That is the only time they remember there is a base. I hope they do pass it, too late though imo, and it will not diminish everything else they betrayed the base on.
But two can play that game. We probably should go along with the idea that passing DADT might get back the support of the base, until it passes.

5. You're right. They shouldn't even try. |

Even though it's the republicans and blue dogs that are watering everything down, let's keep blaming the democrats when they are at least trying.

Democrats have control of the government, in case you forgot. What is the point of having a political party if you can't manage to push an agenda when the party is in control?

3. What kind of backwards bullshit country do we live in.. |
|
and why is Obama procrastinating when it comes to this issue? It's sad to say but Obama fears the Tea Baggers and the GOP, if we were as heartless and had lack of compassion like those idiots maybe we can finally force some change. Until then all we get is compromises while the Dems cower in fear of the mullet wearing, beer belly having inbred ignorant ass Tea Baggers. When are we going to get mad enough to fight back? WTF?!?!??!!

6. It's disheartening that we hear this rhetoric from Pelosi and not from Obama |

Has Obama, the self proclaimed Fierce Advocate of LGBT community, ever publicly acknowledged these apparent plans to eliminate DATD by years end? Does anyone know if Obama is even on board with Pelosi and her plan? Call me skeptical, but the timing of this grand proclamation to coincide with the midterm election and zero agreement or even public acknowledgment of this "plan" from Obama leads me to believe this is little more than empty electioneering. I seem to recall Pelosi doing a song and dance about a "Robust Public Option" once upon a time, and that story didn't have a happy ending either.
