the same disbelief the same outrage the same feeling of helplessness the same desperate effort to (remotely) help, but it was never enough
I'll never forget what happened, and I'll never forgive the Bush administration. But my sentiments don't mean a damn thing. nothing's changed. the people who can really affect change are not doing what needs to be done to keep NOLA and other coastal Gulf communities safe.
The Bush administration is waiting for another hurricane to finish the job.

2. If this is her appearance |
|
on Larry King right after Katrina - I remember that and think of it often. Larry wanted to turn her into a celebrity but she would have none of it. She gave it to America and good. Her priorities were miles ahead of King and our government. That was one segment that they probably would like to bury. She impressed the hell out of me, that's for sure.
(Hope I got the right interview - I am on dialup and can't watch YouTube)

the WORST part of the whole damn thing is him asking her to sing, it just seemed SO out of place - I mean really the woman is crying and so hurt by the obvious inaction of our dear Der Fuhrer and King asks her to sing - of course - she wisely chose a prayer type song and was amazing, as you'd expect... loved her rant... gosh, watching it made me remember how we were all so pissed (collectively as a nation) about this - of course, b*sh still gets a pass on it... even though he was WARNED about how bad it was gonna be (sound familiar?)

7. I'm still angry over this. |
|
I had a discussion with my daughter the other night, she pointed out to me that I seem to be angry and judgemental now, where I never was before. It occured to me that I've felt this way since Katrina. I will never understand how humans can treat each other this way.
