At some point we set all our personal opinions aside. We forget about our mindset be it Liberal or Conservative. Republican or Democrat. In the end, we are all Americans regardless of our mindset. This is a tragedy. We can have our arguments on the response and its merits after this is over.

PLEASE LET IT BE OVER.

I offer Congressman Melancon an Irish Blessing:

May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
And rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.

1. That may be one of the few times I've seen a politician cry...and believed he was being genuine.
This is going cause so much destruction, what's already happened, it's going to cause so much destruction not just to the wildlife but to the people down there.

2. I know how he feels. My summers as a child were spent in Grand Isle with my grandparents.

I would crab all day and then when the sun set, I would pack up my lantern and pole and bike over to the bridge to fish until my grandparents forced me to come home.

One of my first and best memories is the day I swam out to a sandbar and caught a king mackerel with my pocket fisherman. I was five or six. The fish was as big as me (at least that's how I remember it). We cooked it up right there on the beach and ate it. It is one of the best meals I ever had.

I am crying as I type this. It just destroys me to see that beautiful part of America destroyed because we are addicted to cars.
