12. I actually heard this theory on some Alabama nut-job radio station

while I was driving from New Orleans to Nashville last week. It was all I could get on the radio. People called in and told the wing-nut that no, it was not too cynical. I would have settled for just a dollop of logic, me. ??The left wants to ruin the environment in order to further their agenda of favoring the environment over the economy?? (worst case pitch of tree-huggerism)
Even that piss-water Jindal cant bring himself to spew that level of nonsense.

Meanwhile people in New Orleans and beyond are eating shrimp and oysters like there's no tomorrow, because basically they figure there IS no tomorrow. Hell, I been doing the same thing every time I come home since this shit began, none of saying what we were feeling -- man, this is the last season ever. I don't think ideology is that powerful a force on the left. From what I've seen, contingency and response are more important here.
With the right wing, contingency = crisis and response = reaction.
The difference is light years.
As for the CT thinking, I think the right will engage in more of it as time goes on.

22. Its my experience that most 9/11 conspiracy people are on the left.

I don't know how long you have been around this site, but I remember a time when there were a reasonable number of posters here who would routinely delve into that.

Its undoubtedly an oversimplification to say that 9/11 conspiracy theory is a "left wing" thing, but from my perspective it was predominantly a reaction to the Bush admin. that prompted that line of thought, and predominantly lefties who engaged. I don't know a lot of people who could legitimately be called libertarians, but the one or two I do know were pleased as punch with the Bush administration, and are more likely to blame 9/11 on Clinton, or the Arabs.

Maybe you'd like to explain how you arrived at the conclusion that most 9/11 conspiracy believers are libertarians? I've never heard this and I have no reason to buy it.

Here’s another theory. What if “this administration” or just some other enviroweenies on their own, blew up that rig in an act of sabotage? Doing that would gain them just what O is doing, stopping all the drilling and exploring for oil that they can. Letting the spill go on and on, just reinforces the agenda of the far left. They don’t care if the waters are polluted, they care more that oil is not being drilled and the industry will be maligned for this for decades to come. I put nothing past this administration, nothing. Their agenda to ruin America as we knew it, is all they care about. No cost is too great for them in their pursuit to socialize this country.

If this was an explosion not purposely set off, this administration is still delighted with their good fortune at having it happen, as it furthers the agenda.

Accident or sabotage, the left will use this to their full advantage, even to the point of dragging their feet and hindering people like Bobby Jindal, who seek to remedy the damage.

This administration is standing in the way of those who want to stop this spill.
