There was so much hope back then. I truly believed that we would change the world. I had no clue that I would look back on that time as The Golden Years. "Didn't we almost have it all?"

I've been singing this song all weekend, and was just traipsing around youtube, looking for a good montage of this song to post. Thank you so much for taking the psychic pulse of all of us who learned about love from this great man (and others). He truly helped form my soul and conscience as a child, as I couldn't look to my hateful racist parents for that type of direction. I posted something from George Carlin instead, and strangely, he speaks of all of the peaceful people who've been killed or assassinated. And then I think of Marvin Gaye's hateful father, and how he must have had a hand at forming the beauty that was his son. Sometimes, when we learn by example, we are learning what NOT to be like.
