2. Excellent clip to clip demonstration of GOP leaders being both For and Against |

their own ideas.
It really shows up their shamelessness with regard to standing up for their principles.
They promote a mandate for health insurance and the same guys oppose it when our misguided Democrats incorporate it into their plans.
They promote cap and trade and the same guys oppose it when Democrats introduce such legislation.
Her video compilation shows the very same guys speaking strongly in favor and against their own ideas.
This heartless GOP (Greedy Obstructionist Plutocrats) game-playing is one reason I had hoped the whole Democratic party would band together behind our president as a block to push through legislation like single payer without bending over backward to weaken their legislation with GOP-friendly elements.
Let us hope that Democrats' attempts to be bipartisan and work with Republicans will provide enough votes to overcome the number of votes lost through passing legislation much weaker than Democrats could have had if they'd proceeded as a block from the beginning.
It is hard for me to let go of my dream that Democrats had started 2009 more boldly and given our president a strong, clear victory that millions of us had been longing for for decades.
"We Democrats stand for compassion for all our citizens. Republican mismanagement has crashed our economy and our citizens are desperate, being foreclosed from their homes and bankrupted by privatized healthcare. In these times of economic crisis, our people need Medicare for All and we intend to pass it, and hope enough Republicans understand our nation's suffering to support us in this effort. When thousands are being evicted from their homes and losing their jobs every day, they need to know that they can at least count on us to give them national health security."
