The article says he died of a heart attack.

Matthew Simmons' in the last few years began to talk about the coming
oil & water shortages that would change world economies.

He also believed that a lot of minerals would become scarce; copper, uranium & gold.

Simmons'did make a lot of sense but I'm sure what the circumstances were surrounding his
death. He didn't look like the healthiest guy.

apparently, he shot himself in the back of the head 6 times.
