they never marry because most of them get sick and tired of being a waitress and housemaid to a man. Most of them have to work and get tired of coming home to....fix dinner, do the wash, clean the house etc etc while the "old man" sits blissfully in front of the TV drinking beer or another beverage. They would rather go it alone.
