I loved John Lennon's music from the time I was ten years old. After watching the U.S. vs. John Lennon on VH1 last week and seeing just how instrumental he was in calling for peace with principle I now love and appreciate his music and genius all the more. And his words then are unfortunately still timely today as the same warmongering traitors continue their carnage for profit.

ALL WE ARE SAYING, IS GIVE A PEACE A CHANCE.

Is it really possible? He thought so. And even though I have been so disillusioned, in my heart I have to believe it is too, and John Lennon's music still gives me hope.

Thank you for your music, and your genius, and your courage, John Lennon. You are greatly missed.

2. Great musical icon, but he lacked a voice and
he destroyed "Twist 'n' Shout"; I don't care if he had a cold when he recorded it- The Isley Brothers's version is the best but The Beatles got the fame and credit without deserving it.

3. And that has what to do with the message of this video exactly?
Just curious.

10. As an amateur musician...
I can't imagine how great it would be to be able to truthfully say that I had been a part of a musical performance that John freaking Lennon counted off to begin, even if I was just a member of a large chorus or something.

Peace is the life instinct. War is the death instinct. Why are so many "pro-lifers" also "pro-war"?

11. I so agree with your last question

I know someone who claims to be a "pro-lifer" who always talks about abortion being a sin, yet he is for the "war" in Iraq. I asked him how he could reconcile his conscience on that... I never got an answer. And yeah, just singing along with his music now give me goosebumps.

12. If we only invested and trained half as much for peace as war . . .
I think we'd lick it.

13. John's death hit me harder than Kennedy, RFK Jr., or MLK . . .
I remember I was watching Monday Night Football, and I got the news from Howard Fucking Cosell, of all people . . . all I can remember thinking is "Oh no, not John!" . . . and I was depressed as hell for weeks . . .

that video, I believe, was shot during their "bed-in" in Montreal . . . I've seen it many times, but the only two people I can pick out in the crowd are Timothy Leary and Tommy Smothers -- a combination that always gives me a chuckle . . . I know others were there, but can't for the life of me remember who they were . . .

I still miss John . . .

14. Lennon is one of my all time Heros!
I saw the US vs John Lennon not to long ago myself, and I just thought he and Yoko were great for doing what they did.
