These bastards had 20 years of a free run with an obedient, subservient press that never required any of them to be accountable for anything. Now that the left is beginning to bring this out into the open, they don't like that.

That is a pretty clear sign that we are on the right track and the whole grass roots democracy movement is taking hold.

It may take another 5 years or 10 years to gain the upper hand on apparatchiks like Shays, but this is the way forward.

none of his comments justify a Stalin comparison, and some elements of the blogosphere aren't nearly as objective as they should be, he should have answered any question from any citizen, blog, press or what-not however.

It is certainly true that some bloggers are not totally objective. Indeed they are columnists, and columnists are not expected to be neutral -- whether in the MSM or anywhere else.

But that isn't even the issue. The issue is whether Lord Shays should address himself to a question from the public or whether he should be allowed to do nothing but field softballs from Faux News.

Let's get this one onto the Greatest list. It may seem like a completely insignificant event, but I promise you, if the GOP is starting to acknowledge the blogosphere and retaliate, that is evidence this movement is succeeding where most other recent attempts at transparent democracy have failed. This is a turning point.
