1. Isn't the man dead?
We should all let him rest in peace...especially the republicans.

2. Should-hood is shit-hood
Repugs are the ones who persist in fellating his putrefying corpse, so people need to be reminded of St. Ronnie's entire legacy - not just those aspects the repukes consider flattering.

4. Repugs are unpleasant people

I consider their embrace of Raygun's horrible legacy much more unpleasant than the metaphorical image I conjured to ridicule their slavish devotion to policies that caused the death of untold thousands & misery for millions.

I attended college with a nun - a personal friend of mine - who was subsequently raped & tortured at the hands of Guatemalan thugs on whom St. Ronnie lavished praise.

6. What is Reagan's REAL legacy?
1. Record budget deficits
2. More than doubled the national debt
3. Added 30,000 federal jobs to the payroll (so much for smaller government)
4. Opening the Pandora's box of out-of-control military spending that has gone unabated since
5. Creating new hotspots for our military to sink its hooks into with covert activities in Afghanistan, Central America and elsewhere
6. Job creation at a similar rate to Jimmy Carter (regarded as an economic failure by the RW)

I agree with Cirque. If the RW wants to exalt Reagan with their wild fictitious accounts of his accomplishments, there needs to be a counter-attack by posting the actual facts.

10. Then, they laid the groundwork for now.
It wasn't exactly a secret that the Mujaheddin in Afghanistan were only too happy to use America as a source for weapons & money to kill Russians, but were still socially regressive extremist Islamic fundamentalists who planned on killing ALL Westerners eventually.

Reagan (or, more likely his writers, directors & producers) ignored this, just to be able to kick a little mud in Russia's eye for a short time. He gave no thought to what would happen after - which brought us directly to 9/11.
