Cenk (hosting the Dylan Ratigan show all this week from Aug 30 - Sept 3) presents his version of what Obama's primetime speech SHOULD be to the American people airing tonight.

2. Don't be so hard on the president.
He might be wrong sometimes but he's not an idiot.*

*Yes, I know what you meant. ;)

3. In your honor...
I've edited my post. In hindsight, it was a bit over-the-top. Cenk is simply doing his thing.

4. Actually it wasn't liberals that dissed the returning VN vets it was the chicken hawks who
said the VN vets were pussies for not finishing the job. By the end of VN because of all the BS that Nixon and other cons did to people that protested the war everyone was sick and tired of the war and the toll it took on the country so there were no ticker tape parades, America just wanted to put an end to it all. It was a great relief when the VN war ended.

5. I think it's interesting that Cenk's speech felt so jarringly out of place
It seems we've all been trained to expect our presidents to NOT tell us the truth.

9. well his speech
drew a glaring contrast between how to confirm the belief in the country that elected you it was right to do so, and how you leave the door open for republicon contempt and spinning so Fox News can demand that Bush deserves credit, McCain's surge actually won it and it would have been lost without them.

Centrism is milk toast. Ticks off both sides as was stated yesterday on MSNBC. Both progressives and corporate are angry with Obama. Get off the fence Mr. President. The fringe never wanted you, corporate America tried to buy you but the majority of everyday working Americans actually worked and voted for you with their heart, many of who are wealthy themselves who simply believed in you and wanted nothing more than a decent honest leader, not strings.

There are 2 Americas at war here. There is no common ground between them. One has attacked the other and left it bleeding. A poll now says that progressives are luke warm about voting. The fringe is revved up and so is corporate. Time to realize what's at stake. Obama still has the support he first rallied in '08. Corporate America has screwed you and us, the fringe denies you're even an American.

He has two excellent tools in his chest. SS and Elizabeth Warren. Secure both of those and watch progressives light up.
