1. How dare he insult the late great Soupy Sales!!!

3. I remember when Soupy told kids to go into their parents wallets and get the green paper to send to

first thing dad said was "the day you touch my wallet is the day you become left handed" needless to say we left his wallet alone though his cigarettes were another story.

Soupy sucked. He stole more material than any other lame 2nd rate comedian I can remember. Maybe you remember him fondly because you were a kid then.... but then so was I.

11. I,m 63-years old and grew up with Soupy.

He would announce what was for lunch the next day and my brother and I would have the same thing while we watched his show. I know what they are saying here about the comparison to Beck. Beck is a clown.

The only thing Soupy was doing was getting us kids to eat or lunch...I.e a p& j sandwich w/ tomato soup.

Anyway, Beck is doing something to uninformed Americans by feeding deliberate disinformation.

13. I can certainly see the comparison

Watch some old Soupy stuff. The mugging, the overt ridiculousness, the prancing and deliberate silliness - that's Beck. Beck only needs a White Fang (seems appropriate, doesn't it?) to interact with. Beck's already got folks sending in money. And they get some nifty, WAY over-valued coins as a thank you in return!

14. They do an incredible dishonor to the genius that was Soupy Sales

... with this comparison. Sales was NOT a "60's talk show host"- he hosted a kids show! And what got him fired was NOT the money mail-in event- it was the "Joke Of The Week" "Hey kids- what begins with F and ends with UCK? That's right- FIRETRUCK!" and that was immediately followed by a sign saying Experiencing Technical Difficulties... Please Stand By. That was the way Soupy's career ended.

Beck could NEVER have such class.
