And generally, they don't let "little" things like shame, consistency, principle, humanity (etc.; and such as are worthy of being so called) get in their way.
Of course, the cons try to construct a (self) narrative that portrays the opposite -- and that, at the extremes, portrays them as (persecuted) prophets, saviors and martyrs.
Shameless, indeed.

4. Fineman? A journalist? |
|
I think you need to go back and see the kinds of things that Fineman has been up to throughout his career. He actually won the MediaWhoresOnline Media Whore of the Year - at least once, I can't remember if it was twice.
Fineman is a DC courtier and corporate kiss ass. If he found some truth to speak here, it is because Rachel was guiding him and framed the debate in such a way that he couldn't deny it.

5. okay- fair enough. i understand re Rachel guiding him and yet he gave answers his bosses |
|
at Newsweak might not approve of.
and yes- his history is one of prosti-political editorializing. He was at a time Gwens go-to guy for making Bush/Cheney look good. Maybe it was/is wishful thinking on my part to use "The J-word" in the same sentence with Fineman, or maybe he's in a position to finally practice it...?

3. Right Wing Authoritarianism explains much if not all |
|
Right Wing Authoritarianism explains much if not all of the lack of logic for Reps/Cons. There really is some gene or wiring that allows them to simultaneously hold two opposing positions without feeling any shame. We all do this to some degree, but RWAs are masters at it.
Also, I find it interesting that RWAs consistently nuke the world when they are the only participants in a world governance simulation. Famine, despots, money grabs, and eventually nuclear annihilation.

6. Stupid helps them as well |
|
For a large number of their most worked up voters, they are too stupid to understand that the two positions taken are diametrically opposed.

7. Does CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC --ever-- cover this? I am getting so frustrated |
|
Only Rachel covers this sort of thing.
All the other news outlets treat this naively and take everything the Republicans say at face value. This story, teabaggers, ground zero mask, etc..
