11. Worked for me just now
Wow, Brando got panned. Even though he ad-libbed his lines and showed up fifty pounds overweight and without reading the script, his performance did add to the surreal craziness of the movie. "Hearts of Darkness" is well worth checking out, it's the documentary on the making of this film.

3. FWIW: My mother did the extras casting for Apocalypse Now...
...and had to locate a case of Perrier water (hard to find in the 1970's) for Marlon Brando

most of the good ones are pretentious. One of my favorite movies. Lyons was taking himself too seriously.
