Friday night (September 3) on “The Ed Show” on MSNBC, progressive talk show host Ed Shultz laid down a challenge for Americans to put aside their differences and come together. for what is truly needed and important in our country at this time: more jobs so that every person in America who wants to work can get a job and be able to support his or her family now and into the future. Schultz announced that he is joining the One Nation Working Together movement and will be a featured speaker at the October 2 One Nation Working Together march in Washington.

He proclaimed: “This is about now and this is about jobs. Labor has been under attack for the last thirty years. It is my motivation to be a part of this and to motivate the audience of this television show to get on this platform; to be a part of this march on Washington on October 2nd.”

Too many of our fellow citizens are hungry, homeless and hopeless in this country. And instead of indulging in the politics of fear and isolation that seem to dominate, we are coming together to work as one toward concrete goals that bring justice to our communities.

19. Fine, have "the" march in Washington,
but simultaneously organize marches all over America. Most of us cannot afford to travel to DC, or we have families to care for. IMO, it would be great to have the main rally in D.C., but ask progressives all over America, to march(or stand) in their own towns, to project Unity.
Personally, I believe that D.C. should be one of a few, centrally located, "seats of power."
Even with modern transportation and communication, poor and unemployed Americans cannot (and shouldn't have to), trek to D.C. to demonstrate against these unfair labor practices, or any issue.

3. You do realize that even a crowd of millions...
does not mean the media will report it....

The official count for Beck was 76 million or so, yet none of the MSM, other than CBS, has reported this... The others continue to cite anywhere from 300,000 on up.

11. 76,000
was the scientific count from the group commissioned by CBS. Where did the 90,000 come from?

9. It was not millions at Beck's thing
All accounts were more like 76 thousand Foax viewers bussed in, many were on some corporate sponsor's dime.

Had you read the entire two lines, I stated "The official count for Beck was 76 million or so, yet none of the MSM, other than CBS, has reported this... The others continue to cite anywhere from 300,000 on up."

Not trying to be snarky, but it just leaves me confused (and DUers who do this, a bit foolish)...

Read the links in the OP.
It's not an Ed rally.
There are tons of organizations that are endorsing the ONE NATION rally.
The ONE NATION rally folks asked Ed to speak at the rally,
the rally has been organized for quite some time before Ed got involved.

8. Who's going from Mpls?
I'd like to go. Alas, I can't go. 2 reasons. I work for a bunch of right wing (rich) skunks and therefore I can't afford to go or get a few days off. BUT I would contribute a few bucks to help someone else go. I know the signs will be spelled correctly and neat at least.
