3. One of the deeply concerning characteristics of the right wing

is their use of dehumanizing language when referring to anyone they perceive as "left" or threatening. Calling people parasites, cockroaches, leeches, etc. becomes very dangerous. Bill Maher once said he wasn't sure if these right wingers were scarier when they were in power or out of power. I felt that way right before the election. I knew there would be a very ugly backlash if Obama won, but I also knew how horrible it would be if he didn't. I still feel that way. These right wing media has SOOOO poisoned the political well, I don't know how democracy is going to survive moving forward.
