1. They were great!

We were way back in the field. It was a far as I could drag Janet. Her knees were killin' her. For some reason she was under the impression that she would walk the two miles on the march, and call it a well-spent day. We laughed later. I asked her if she thought she was going to get picked up by a bus for the return trip. As it turns out, that was exactly her line of thought. She was a trooper, I must say.

2. I was looking for youse guys but didn't see you.

About 100 meters before the school grounds, the vets peeled off onto both sides of the road & applauded folks walking by.

3. I saw those. Thanks for posting them! I sent the links to my email list.

We separated from the main group at the turn and continued down the road closer to the compound. I know that wasn't the correct route, but people kept shouting, "Whose road is it?", and answering, "Our road!" I got swept away in the spirit of the moment, and couldn't resist. As a result, we were one of the last few stragglers to wander back into the rally site. Janet collapsed half way up the field, and refused to go further. I still can't believe she completed the whole route.

Yes, we had a wonderful time. It was truly the best protest march I've attended, and that was largely due to your hospitality. I really appreciate the way you took us under your wing, introduced us to so many of your friends, and were so generous with your time.

I'm sure Janet will have lots of stories to tell her kids and grandkids. I've already told my bouviers all about it, although I don't think they truly appreciated the importance of my mission. :rofl:
