It took the Republicans 6 years to run the economy into the ground.
Did you really expect President Obama to fix it in two?

2. The Message
Well, my thought is that the message is aimed at Independents who don't especially like Democrats OR Republicans these days, and who are tired of the fighting -- so I went for a soft sell. Hopefully they message will work its way into some brain tissue.

3. I dig where you're coming from, man.
But I think cats in the Congress would probably get more accomplished than the current crop of GOP rascals. Cats really aren't Tea Party icons anyway; they actually know what they want.

4. I *think* the cat is a reference to the difficulty of herding cats
It's a metaphor for the republican in-fighting that will occur if many tea party candidates win their elections. If you think Congress is deadlocked now, you ain't seen nothing yet.

5. Cats
Yes, my cat got into a snit about being used as a symbol for the Tea Party. On the other hand, how often have you seen two cats cooperate on doing anything? The Tea Partiers KNOW what they want and won't give in on any of it, so my guess is that any of them who get elected are going to become pretty unpopular pretty fast.

8. I'm not convinced Teabaggers *do* know what they want . . .
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 06:39 PM by MrModerate
Neither the patsies in the park nor the candidates they've bashed mainstream 'Licans with.

They "want their country back" -- from where? from whom?

They want government to just stop doing . . . something

They want politicians to listen to them . . . but they don't know what to say.

Bottom line, they don't want to feel like losers anymore. More precisely, they don't want to be *reminded* that they're losers. And Obama is a huge reminder that just being white and being sanctimonious is inadequate to guarantee success in America.

It's an incoherent movement based on "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" -- without a clue what "it" is.
