FUND: Maybe there was some male chauvinism involved, I’m not saying it’s impossible. Boys will be boys. I don’t deny that that can’t happen. But the bottom line is she became dissatisfied and her response was not to seek other employment, it was not to have a showdown with the management. She took a train down to Washington and she met with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and accused ISI of gender discrimination. Now, gender discrimination does exist in this country. There are women everyday who are given less than their due. But the response of a conservative – a properly thinking conservative – is not to go first to the federal government and still try to keep your job. She was basically blackmailing ISI. ‘Don’t fire me, because you know what’s going to happen, I’m going to file an EEOC complaint.’ That is not the responsible thing for a principled conservative to do. So they did fire her. They fired her for cause. I’m not saying it was true, I don’t know, but they fired her for cause and they also fired her for going to complain to the EEOC.

I know many people who have had to drop legal cases because they couldn't continue to pay legal bills.

Not all attorneys are upstanding professionals.

Maybe her attorney was paid off to string her along and drain her resources. It happens more than you'd like to believe.

I just figured that someone who lied about her professional educational credentials, her campaign finances, and the impact of condoms on AIDS, might just be lying about her legal case. I have no love lost for the Connecticut nazi repug Buckleys for which she chose to work. On consideration, maybe she's right, and her ex-bosses are wrong.

First, lying is wrong. Slander is wrong. And while I wish Morgan had never started a relationship with John that is, in fact, what happened. The relationship has never ended. The two are together as I write this.

It is a fact that Morgan became pregnant by John; true that he manipulated her into having an abortion; true that he then became emotionally abusive. That abusive behavior has continued to the present time, escalating to physical violence.

He has broken every promise he has made to change his behavior.

9. Interesting (mis)statements there

Speaking as an attorney who used to do employment discrimination work, I have to respond to a couple of things this GOP'er said.

He said that O'Donnell was fired for two reason: 1) for cause (but he doesn't know whether the basis was true; sorry sweetie, when you don't articulate what the cause is and also say you don't know whether it's true, then I think she was not terminated for cause); and 2) for going to the EEOC. This second reason is called retaliation and is itself a violation of the employment discrimination laws. He has admitted that she was terminated for an unlawful reason!

He then implied that O'Donnell is lying when she said she dropped the case because she couldn't afford it. He indicated that attorneys would gladly take a meritorious case on contingency. Well, that is not exactly true. Attorneys may take a case on a contingent fee basis but require the client to pay costs as they are incurred. Costs include not only court filing fees but expensive court reporter fees, expert witness fees. It is not unusual for these costs to be over $15,000.
Yes, medical malpractice and personal injury attorneys do not usually ask their clients to front costs. However, it is my experience that employment attorneys do ask their clients to pay costs.


As for O'Donnell, I have no pity for her. You sleep with dogs. You get up with fleas.
