Three massive fish kills in one week in Plaquemines Parish have raised some serious concerns from parish officials and area fishermen

State says recent fish kills "not a concern", FOX 8 New Orleans, September 21, 2010:

State says recent fish kills "not a concern", FOX 8 New Orleans, September 21, 2010: Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser says it has been an all out battle to get the feds to help test waters heavily hit by the oil from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. "We've got the state wildlife and fisheries checking the oxygen levels, and they've acknowledged that they've seen some areas in the water column where there is no oxygen which is unusual," said Nungesser.

Plaquemines Parish President Billy Nungesser says it has been an all out battle to get the feds to help test waters heavily hit by the oil from the Deepwater Horizon disaster. "Could it also be that it is linked to the spill, due to the excess of microbes out there, and them dying off? I don't know, I can't definitely say anyway," said . ...

1. I could swear that officials already proved the fishkills come from
low tide. Repug oil nazi media corporations already said 'Move along, nothing to see here.' These events are as normal and usual as the tides. So, no worries. Plus, we have some GMO salmons that can live in there, I'm pretty sure. Patented by Dow or Monsanto, or some such outfit.

2. Disgusting how the media encourages the authorities to abandon testing
Somebody should take that reporter and all of the other "reporters" covering these stories out to the fish kill areas and feed them fish after fish. These reporters are all towing the BP line and encouraging the state officials to stay hidden away in their offices, avoid doing their job and testing the water. They have a job to do and they are completely abandoning it. Every time one of these "reporters" just rehashes the facts about fish kills and nobody coming out to test the water as minor aspect of the story, they encourage it to keep happening. These guys should expose the people who have the job of testing these waters. Show up at their fucking offices and ask them why they are not testing the waters. If they were doing their job, the story would start at the place where it currently ends. They encourage it to happen by not reporting on it, much in the same way that a police officer would encourage a thief to rob a house by making it clear that they will not arrest them. Reporters are scum.

3. Excellent point!
They are more concerned with the mousse covering their hair than the stories that need covering.

4. Thanks. That is so true.
In an earlier thread, one which I think that you posted, a reporter spent what seemed like a good portion of the day out with a fisherman and discussed how the guy was essentially bankrupt because he could not, in good conscience, sell the fish he catches. You would think that somebody like this reporter would feel motivated to help, in the way only he could, following that encounter. Instead, nothing. It is like seeing a doctor spend a day with a patient that is dying without even trying to see if he can help the patient at the end of the day.

As you can probably tell, the word reporter is a dirty word in my book. As you pointed out, they are basically pretty boys who just want to be in front of a camera and nothing more.

6. The cover-up smells worse than the fishkill.
